Default 1882 Cosack & Co. Cards / Peck & Snyder Advertising

Posted By: Michelle Wise

I recently purchased an 1882 Cosack card that features an address for Peck & Snyder on the front of the card, as well as a nice printed advertisement on the back of the card for Peck & Snyder sporting goods. Of all of the 1882 Cosack cards that I've come across, the majority of them have been blank-backed. I was curious to know if anyone has come across any of the ones that feature advertising such as this one, and also if having the P&S advertising adds any substantial value to the card due to P&S's release of earlier baseball issues. thanks to anyone who can help. Michelle

I can't tell you much about your item, but it is very neat....almost with cetainty the addition of the ad on the back and the fact that it is Peck and Snyder puts a premium on this.

I've had numerous Cosack trade cards with the Peck & Snyder ad on the back, and they are often found this way. They are an exceptionally nice trade card set and it is certainly worth a premium for the P & S ad. I'm not sure I have seen any with the ad on the front, too. When trade cards were hot I could get $100-125 apiece for these. I don't know if that price applies today.
