I just looked up "the pope and Mother Teresa," and found it in 10 seconds!

"Glen V" is no longer at that e-mail address. Anyone know what happened to Glen V, or have his e-mail address?

Julie, you know I love you and all that?

Is it just me, or do I need a decoder ring, or something like that?

Joe

In 2002, Glen V attended mark Macrae's (first) summer show, where i met him--he especially wanted to see a new card I'd acquired--a N332-2 Ewing. Afterwards. he posted what a great card it was, and that he met me at Mark's table, and that Mark and I made him feel like "Alan Iverson standing between the pope and Mother Teresa."

I had to ask who Alan Iverson was--although the name had a familiar ring.

In a recent French-Canadian movie (you REALLY want to know all this, right?) one of the characters refers to the pope and Mother Teresa as "a surly Pole and a slimy Albanian"--he also says someone will be "sitting between them, playing a harp on a cloud." )(she's a nun--the kind that doesn't wear a habit, and she's teriffic.)

SO: I was reminded of what Gl;en V said, two years ago, and thought I would write him about what the guy in the movie said. (YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW ALL THIS , RIGHT?)I had to look up his name, which I did by typing in "the pope and mother Teresa," in our SEARCH feature--and it worked like a charm. His e-mail address appeared. Unfortunately, the e-mail came backed to me marked "addressee unknown" or that sort of stuff. SO: I asked if anyone had heard of or from Glen V lately, and what was his e-mail?

My comments ("this search engine really works great!") and ("unfortunately, Glen V is no longer at his 2002 e-mail address. Anybody have it?") were perfectly clear, they just didn't explain the situation--which has only minimally to do with baseball cards! AMEN!

Great story.
I'm glad I asked.

Please send me the decoder ring.
Don't want to miss out on the other stories.

Joe

Hi Julie (and others),

I moved in 2002 and have a new provider (and home). My posts after that have to correct e-mail address.

I won't get the ring?
How can I follow your stories?

Two scores and zero years ago.
I worked on a show that had a sign off that went something like this.

"There are 8 million stories in our Naked City, and this has been one of them."

I don't know if I can handle this.
Let me bury myself within my T217 incomplete Mono set.

The movie, NOT THAT ANYONE ASKED, is "The Barbarian Invasions," or "Les Invasions Barbares" Out on video and DVD July 13. Won Best Foreign Film, still playing at small theaters in U.S. and probably more in Canada, since it's French-Canadian.

One man's meat is another man's poison, so how can I say you'll love it? I love it, Ben Fisher loves it (and I once MADE Ben buy a Japanese horror flick, "Kwaidan," that I said he would love and it bored him STIFF--so you have two people who disagreed on one movie very heartily recommending another).

OH: Just got a T218 Jack Jonson advertised as "fair to good to VG"; it is like PERFECT. $30+. (Is that good?) It's the top half of the T9...
