Default Are these really Manny's Baseball Land Pictures?

I just picked these up on ebay. The seller described them as 1959 Manny's Baseball Land pictures. I looked in the Standard Catalog and ono the Trading Card Database, and I found only 1961 Manny's Baseball Land pictures. And the 1961's have a different design than these -- a printed name in the lower border. Do any of you know if the photos I picked up are really Manny's Baseball Land pictures, and if they really are from 1959? I noticed the Mathews pictures him in a Boston Braves uniform from 1952, but I suppose the distributor of these could have just used an old picture. Thanks for your help.

I've only heard of and seen the 1961 Manny's Baseball Land items as well. So not sure what these are. What size are the photos/items? Also, how thick is the paper, and is there anything on the backs? That may help some in trying to identify these items.

They are 8 x 10 and blank backed. They haven't arrived yet, but I'm assuming they are the same type of stock as 8 x 10 team issues.

Manny's may have sold them but they are ubiquitous for the late 1940s-1950s in baseball and boxing. I think they may be the work of National Studios, which was a NY based publicity photo operation, because the style is commonplace with boxer publicity photos.

Default Manny's???

I too have quite a few of these photos.

Adam may be correct on who produced them. But Manny's did sell them. At least some of them by the Manny's Catalog shown below.

At the top of the page is shown a Williams and a Mantle/Maris.

Under the Williams they list the individual players for sale from the 10 player team sets we are familiar with as Manny's. But the Williams photo does not go with this list, but rather the photos listed at the bottom of the page under the HOF Bust.

They are called ALL STARS OLD TIMER PHOTOS. This is a partial list and while your Fox and Mathews are not listed here does not mean they are not part of the set.

Did you win these on ebay from Estate-Finders?

If so they were my consignments and I had expected the photos to be listed individually so player collectors could get the ones they wanted. But he listed them as a group, which I think cost me money.

Here is the Manny's catalog page:

Thank you both for the information. I guess these are still a bit of a mystery, particularly the date.

I won these two from mrstanleyonlinetreasures, not estatefinders.
