Default Otto Knabe - show em!

#1 card in the 1914 and 15 CJ set, Otto (nicknamed "Dutch") was born in Carrick PA in 1884 and played from 1905 to 1916 for the Pirates, Phillies, Terrapins (Federal League), Pirates and Cubs. He was the player-manager for the Terrapins in the new federal league in 1914 and 1915.

Knabe twice received a single vote for the Baseball Hall of Fame, once in 1939, and the other in 1942. He died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was interred at New Cathedral Cemetery in 1961.

Whenever these posts appear I love going to SABR and reading the bio's on each player.
Here's the bio on Otto Knabe:

http://www.sabr.org/bioproj/person/310d7ec8

A couple of interesting notes. The bio states his father was of German descent. I wonder
if he wasn't given the middle name "Otto" from the reigning and popular chancellor of
Germany at the time of his birth, Otto von Bismark (in office 1871-1890). Knabe was
born in 1884.

Also, the bio explains that Knabe got wind of the 1919 World Series fix and "investigated
the matter, confirmed something crooked afoot, and reported this to Gleason, then
managing the White Sox."

Just a couple of tidbits I thought were worth noting.

Was recently reflecting on perhaps the most significant card upgrade I made in "stuff I collect"

Both are from the rather scarce E104-III series. The second example came from Dan Gantt's collection. Which, in an interesting coincidence, I have another high grade E104-III from Dan that I had acquired in trade having provided by Niagara Baking Knabe card.

At any rate, here are the two:

Newbie question. How do you pronounce "Knabe"? Am guessing something akin to a Canadian saying knob, eh but I reserve the right to be wrong.
