A little more background for the less informed, like me, would be helpful Larry…. in order to better appreciate the discovery 😊

Default Wilson meats

1961 for ever
Discovered frank Howard on senators which dated it to 1961-1967
Then discovered 5 unknown players a year ago
Now 2 versions of bob Rodgers which would also date it, to at least 1966 California angels
Psa 1961 to 1965...wont change of course
And wont even grade the 5 unchecklisted players

I have the Hodges, shown with the Dodgers, so 1961 could be right for that one. Sounds like these must have been issued over a series of years, at least up to 1966.

Frank Howard was a Senator from 1965-71 (72 if you count Texas). His first Topps card as a Senator is 1966. His 1965 Topps card shows him as a Dodger, although the reverse says he was traded to Washington on 4 December 1964.

It's at least possible that the cards were printed in 1965. As noted, Frank Howard was on the Senators from the beginning of that season. The Bob/Buck Rodgers card is more intriguing. You might recall that Angels owner Gene Autry announced the team's new name during the '65 season even though they would not begin play in Anaheim until the following year. The team was beginning to be called the California Angels with a month or so to go in the '65 season, and Wikipedia claims that Autry had them wear the new "CA" caps that September (the road uniforms showed the same "Angels"). So 1965 as the year of those cards--Howard and Rodgers--cannot be ruled out, and it is thus possible the Wilson issue ended that year, unless there is evidence of other cards to show otherwise.

I saw the last name, and immediately thought it was another super duper rare Jackie Robinson “card” that was worth $2.8M!
