Default For those who want a good laugh...slightly O/T

I sold a Bazooka panel on EBAY that went to EBAY Authentication. I received an email stating the panel was being shipped to the buyer but could not be authenticated.

I finally talked to someone on the phone in Authentication and they stated that a Bazooka card or panel is not a baseball card. Since my listing stated it was a baseball card that I miscategorized the listing and they could not authenticate it.

A card without stats and cut off a box or affixed to a product is not a baseball card according to this guy. Since they confirmed that PSA authenticates the slabs I pointed out that on the PSA website you can click on pop report, click on Baseball Cards, then click on 1966 and finally click on Bazooka. PSA's website says Bazooka cards are indeed baseball cards but when PSA authenticates an EBAY purchases it is not deemed a baseball card.

Has anyone sold a strip card, Wheaties box, etc on EBAY where it went to Authentication and had this happen or did they authenticate it?

That’s crazy. Lately it sounds like EBay authentication has some real issues with determining what is or is not categorized correctly, but when PSA can’t even agree with itself, that’s absurd.

It just dawned on me that earlier this year I did sell a 1959 Bazooka Aaron and several strip cards that passed authentication.

eBay outsources authentication to CGC. It’s just a smart risk management approach by them. Why take on the risk of authenticating something that doesn’t obviously fit the category. Just reject it, send the form letter out, and have no exposure if there’s ever a problem with its authenticity.
