Here is a scorecard from the Sept 10 1961 game where Lou Brock led off with a single in his ML debut, and then was doubled up when Ken Hubbs ground out to short in his ML debut.

My boss threw out a first pitch at a Cards game a few years ago and wore a Brock jersey in tribute. He's going to be bummed.

I never met him, formally, but I did encounter him at a card show about 15 years ago. I was looking at the cards on a table, and when I happened to look up Lou Brock was standing about 10 feet away. I didn't say anything, but my eyes must have got wide because he smiled and said "hi." I smiled back and said something like "Lou Brock!" Minor incident, but he seemed like a good man on the field and off. Hard to believe he's gone.

Default RIP HOF Lou Brock

Lou Brock was the epitome of the rare gift of combined Power and Speed, becoming the 1st ever to steal 50 bases and hit 20 HR's in the same season. He became only the 14th member of the exclusive 3,000 hit club in 1979 and retired on top of his game, hitting over .300 in his final year.

He was the fuse that ignited the uber-successful St. Louis Cardinals teams of the mid-late 1960's. His post season batting average was the thing of legends.

In 1990 I instantly liked the beauty of this Upper Deck card featuring HOFers Brock and Rickey Henderson. On or around 1992 I had a chance to get both of them to sign this card at an autograph signing in So Cal.

Also, here is a neat scored program to Lou Brock's historic 3,000th hit game in 1979.

RIP Mr. Brock. Sorry to see the passing of such a class act...

Had him personalize a ball to me in 90s, pre Rickey Henderson. I thought his # steals would last forever. A super nice guy - liked him a lot.

HOFer Lou Brock Career Steal #1 (also career HR #1) and vs. his future team the Cardinals(Opening Day 1962), he had to have a big smile on his face after that game.

Only one in existence!.......well I should say none graded by PSA, Full or Stubs.

Scott G probably has one.

Also, just noticed it was Friday the 13th and ya got Box 66 Tier 6......"AH!!!!!!!!!!"
