Default How to go about selling?

Posted By: Geoff Litwack

To pursue my newly narrowed collecting focus, I've decided to sell two of my sets and one half-completed one - I won't say which because I don't want this message to be construed as my sneaking a B/S/T thread into the main forum. They're bread-and-butter prewar sets, and I'm wondering how I to go about maximizing my return - piecing them out on eBay or consigning them whole to an auction seem to be the options. Does anyone have reason to prefer one auction house over another? Looking at closing prices on similar lots, it looks like Mastro, for example, had a big margin over Robert Edwards, suggesting that perhaps REA has more advanced collectors bidding and thus less interest in "common" sets. Or that datapoint could be a blip. Any input is appreciated!
