I was interested in MB, read the book, now less interested. It seemed to me like the MB myth had gotten a little out of hand, and Dawidoff reacted in kind--he was a little harsh. There are lots of pages that detail just how little he was up to for quite a large chunk of his life. |

You are absolutely right. All his life, he was surrounded by interesting people, but he himself wasn't really very interesting, though occasionally weird. |
