Default Wilbert Robinson Circa-1894 Baltimore Orioles Game-Worn Jersey

Can anyone explain this one? I thought this would be a bit more than 9k? It seems to have some stout letters with it? regards

It sold in the Halper auction for 27K. Someone is probably a little disappointed.

Matt- a non Hall of Fame uniform of Hoffer, who played on the same team as Robinson, sold at the National in the Legendary Auction for over 100K. So figure a HOFer conservatively worth 150-200K. This one sold for five cents on the dollar. Something doesn't look right.

The Hoffer had wonderful provenance. I was very impressed with that lot. I can't find my catalog but I think there were also a few other pieces included with the jersey.

The Hoffer was a full uniform IIRC....although I don't think the pictures in the catalog presented it as such. Also the Hoffer was in incredible condition with rock solid provenance.

The Hoffer was a full uniform and did have impeccable provenance. It was great. My question is why did this Robinson get so small a bid? There are collectors out there who would kill for a jersey of a top 19th century HOFer. It doesn't seem it was accepted by the serious collectors. That was my concern.

Interesting how they completely failed to identify the Draper & Maynard patch. Just looking at the small photo that they provided, it was clear as day. No D&M patch that I've ever seen has ever even hinted at a patent date. Not sure where that came from.

I was wondering about this also. I had heard that some of the Jerseys from Halper were not real which could explain it. It just doesn't add up since it sold for 27K originally.
