Default 1955 Bowman Football Proofs

Many interesting items came out of Mull's basement 30 years ago. He was a higher up at Bowman Gum who was the source of the 1952 Large Size Color and B&W Bowman Baseball proofs.
He also had the first series of 1955 Bowman Football on white paper. I have 48
of the first series (1-64). Wondering if anyone has seen any of these "on the street". These 48 are all I know of. The printing is apparently identical, the paper stock is slightly thinner.

I think the George Moll proofs have blank backs. There are a few on eBay from other years. I have personally seen some of George Moll’s cards in binders with unissued cards. They were on mini-sheets. I didn’t pull them out and look at the backs. I do have two 1956 Bowman Football cards that supposedly were part of George Moll’s collection. That were proofs and unissued. They to were blank-backed.

Maybe they ran out of paper stock and substituted the white stock paper?

Would you share an image of your 1956 proofs? I haven’t come across a 1956 Bowman football before. That sounds awesome.

Not sure about Bowman but Topps would print on white paper, I think before the final cardboard proofing. I have a 1967 Baseball panel like this and know of several in that year and others.
