Lot I was winning just closed. I’ll wait for the email tomorrow to see if I really won or have to wait another day to find out

Well, I might have just won the two items I cared about, but maybe not, who knows?

I agree that they need to work with whoever hosts their auctions and make sure this doesn't happen again. Prior to their last 2 auctions, I haven't seen problems like this with REA in the few years I have been bidding with them.

The lot I was winning has now closed, hopefully for good, so I think I won the card I wanted.

I honestly believe this is due to the amount of people bidding. It must be a ton of people to do this two auctions in a row.

I am fairly pissed off at REA’s handling of the site issue. I stayed up to bid on an item until almost 2am this morning. When the site went down why did they have to go to a 20 minute countdown instead of the normal 10 minute one that was supposed to be used?

I am going to assume that the person I was bidding against was located possibly on the west coast because each time I was high bidder and the clock would get down to the last minute I would be out bid. I am confident that the bidder was using the time clock to their advantage because by waiting until the very last minute on the 20 minute clock to bid which kept the auction item going an additional hour longer than it normally would have if they would have been using the 10 minute clock.

I finally had to stop bidding and go to bed since I had to be at work 5 hours later. Being a Mountain or Pacific time zone bidder has a distinct advantage when auctions close so late like this especially when ending on a work night.

Seems like stuff like this happens often. It happens almost every auction, people complain and get a little bit upset however they always come back to consign and bid :-) REA is the best hands down in my book.

Another great auction:-)

This was my first REA auction and first win. I was a bit surprised on how low the item I snagged went for. It was 19th century baseball too.

Hopefully the shipping is fairly expedited.

Would be enlightening to compare various Net 54ers responses when this happens to REA vs when it happens to Goldin. Would be real interesting. .....

Goldin responded to their repeated issues by building their own auction software, didn't they? What's REA doing, besides "looking into the issue" yet again?

From what I remember, it took Goldin quite a while to get their own auction software put into use. Not sure REA could have built and tested their own auction software since the last auction they had issues with.

Brian gets more of a pass because of his character, but he definitely has to fix it on his end.

What’s the over/under on 1000 users logged in for extended bidding? Not sure if Goldin/REA/Ha go down because of sheer volume or maybe a hacker playing games.
