Default insane E-card prices again?

Posted By: Paul

Can someone explain the price of this card to me? It presents very well for the grade, but the grade is a 2. I know there aren't that may collectors out there like me who don't give a rat's a** about the technical grade.

at least it's a very nice looking 2!

Hey Turner, shoot me an email when you get a chance -- would love to see that "Waddell" piece you guys were talking about at the National.

That stain will not be there for very much longer. Is this a $7-800 card in a 5 or 6?

I was following that, too, but did not want to go high because I guessed PSA must have seen something more in that stain on the back.

Beautiful cards from the front.

What's interesting to me about this is when non-obscure (yet somewhat rare-ish) sought after cards (like this) sell on ebay and then the following week, another one of the same is posted- the price of the second one is always outrageously higher than the first.

I bought a PSA 2 e90 Chase (in similar, undergraded condition) in January for $120 on ebay. (I could care less about technical grades)

The following week another PSA 2 Chase (in worse shape) went for almost $300 on ebay, presumably because the underbidders on the one I won worried that they'd lose again.

It would be a fun experiment to put my e90 Chase on ebay and see what happens. I really like the card though, but if someone else wants to make a killing, post it. I bet it would go for a lot more than this one.

It was a nice 2 and two people put in high snipes -- why is that such a surprise?

Maybe it is that everyone has now received their stimulus checks and collectors are using them to buy cards I agree, I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that caramel card prices (in the major E sets) have started to rise back to previous levels.

I must've blinked if E card prices had been doing anything but going up consistently for the last several years. I had not noticed a dip but and in the case of this card, looks like two people thought it was nicer than the grade assigned by PSA.

So, now a 5 sells for half the price of the 2.

Yeah, I was the seller of the 5. Funny how that worked out -- "funny" being the operative word.

I look to avoid the seller of that 5 at all costs!

I find that he describes his items accurately.... and aggressively refuses to shill.

It is simply conduct unbecoming of an eBay seller.

Leon, damn...I thought we had this worked out! Perhaps before I send it out to Tony you can send it West, have it cracked out, cleaned up, resubmitted and it will be an 8! (And then Tony you can consign it to me for resale and it will bring in $20 less than what you paid for it)
