Second chance offers on ebay

I'm assuming if you get a second chance offer on something and its through your main page after logging into ebay that it is legit? I've never actually had anyone send me a second chance offer before, and whats puzzling here is I was the third bidder.

Yes it is legit if it is on your my ebay page, and yes you can be a 3rd place bidder and receive that offer.

Actually all bidders can.

Should be fine if it's through your Ebay's main page and it's is in your messages.
Also, doesn't matter if you were the 3rd under bidder or 5th.
The seller can choose which ever buyer he wants to offer a second chance offer to.
Maybe the buyer above you had low feedback and he didn't want to take the risk.
I would suggest though depending on the value of the card on a second chance offer
to speak with the seller on the phone to verify if it's a big ticket item.
Better safe than sorry I say.
