C'mon Dan, you're better than this You know who the Orioles batters were facing? Their own pitching! That's right, the Orioles were the pitchers and catchers for BOTH squads. The night before the Orioles beat another Florida college squad with their full staff by a 14-1 margin. Complete non story.

I understand that the Orioles won't be playing at home during the National this year - maybe this is a good thing?!

However, just down the road, the rapidly-rising Washington Nationals will be playing at home in their near-new stadium - Wed. & Thurs. nights against the Phillies and Friday & Sat. nights plus Sunday afternoon against Miami. This just may be the year my Nats make the playoffs!!

Pretty humorous. I'm a White Sox fan, but I like to root for the O's when their interests don't conflict. I was 11 years old when Ripken broke the consecutive games record, and I've had a soft spot for the O's ever since. I'm also a fan of the Royals when its convenient, since a bunch of my extended family is from KC and are Royals fans.

Basically, I tend to root for teams that are currently no threat at all to the White Sox...not that the White Sox are expected to be any threat this season.

Atleast your teams don't spend $90M+ a year and still manage to suck. Oh it's rough being a Mets fan...

I do think we'll be around .500 this season though.

Now that has to hurt. Baltimore has a great ballpark, but the ownership needs to go.

At least in the college game the Os were up against their own pitchers and catcher. What's their excuse for losing to their AAA team yesterday?
Norfolk 6, Baltimore 4. Sheesh.

Looks like this loss before the season prepped the O's for their current run ....

Exciting win this afternoon... reminded me of the Orioles of the late 90s... except that today's team is much younger... and in my opinion the manager better.

They remind me a lot of the 2008 Rays. I would love to see a Rays / O's ALDS... It would help if the Rays sweep the Yanks this weekend.

Default A Long Time Comin'

As an Orioles fan since 1966, I have lived the great years and the good years. I chuckled the other day when I realized that the college kids today are not old enough to remember even a .500 season let alone a championship season.

The O's are somehow finding ways to win. I love watching this team play as they seem to always play hard. The play Macahdo made at third on Wednesday was just awesome.

As an O's fan, it has been fun, real fun. They will probably lose to the A's tonight. A horrible travel schedule after playing a 14 inning game yesterday. This road trip will be a real test and could determine if they are playing in the playoffs this year.

Default From the Angels fan

Hope Baltimore finds a way to play the way they look on paper: mediocre.

As a fan of baseball, however, it's neat to see the A's and O's make a mockery out of the Angels and Yankees with their incredible payrolls. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for each team.

May the A's and Angels get in, and may the Yank's watch baseball from their couches come the postseason!

As an O's fan this is hard to fathom. What an amazing run, credit to manager, decent talent but playing way over there head.

The Pirates have folded but still cheering on the Orioles and A's. Nice to see a different cast of characters in the playoffs :-)
BTW, I have heard that the movie producers are slavering to make Moneyball II after the success of the first one. This is actually Billy Beane's finest hour, the first team had Hudson, Zito, Mulder, etc., although they were conveniently left out of the movie. This squad is the real lunch pail moneyball kids.

The O's have allowed 20 more runs then they have scored, the Yanks have scored 93 more then they have allowed.

The Luck must run out sooner or later.

The Yankees kept saying that in the 1960 World Series, when they were outscoring the Pirates something like 39-15, but lost the series. Luck doesn't have to last forever, just a little bit longer for Baltimore!

They have won 13 straight extra inning games, that's REALLY lucky.

Sure they have gotten some breaks to go their way to win that many extra inning games, but you are forgetting that a big reason they have done that, is they probably have one of the best bullpens in baseball. Their pen is really really strong and that is going to win you a lot of extra inning and one run games.
