Me as well, Rob.
I just picked up the final 2 (I believe?) of the All Star cards last night.
I needed Eddie Giacomin and Jacques Laperriere.
While searching out the Laperriere All Star cards, I discovered there were 2 versions/variations so I purchased both I found in one lot.
One card on the back has no writing/name and the other one has "Gilbert Perreault Outstanding Rookie" written on it.
No idea which one is tougher/more rare, (if one actually is?), but I'm glad I got both just the same.
(will post pics when the arrive)
I don't follow these cards religiously so I really have no idea if they've been projecting up lately or not but I was surprised by some of the prices realized with some of the cards I was watching last night.

I love subsets, especially All-Star and playoff ones. This Orr below is the only AS I have from 70, I think. That's great you have picked those up, a very nice project.

Great looking card, Rob.
I remember pulling these as a kid and the All Star cards were, by far, my favorite cards of the bunch. Just something about the looks of the black AS cards really appealed to me.

I really like the 71/72 OPC trophy winner cards as well.

(Won't let me add 4th pic for some reason?)
There is also another version. In short they call it the black bottom variation. For years everyone just thought they
were terrible miscut cards. But it has since been confirmed that it is a legitimate variation. On the front of the card
the black will run all the way to the bottom with no white boarder on the bottom. Do a search on eBay and you
can easily see what I mean. Also check the very high asking prices on these cards as compared to the regular AS cards.

Thanks Winston.
I purchased this Black Bottom Bobby Orr a few years ago.
It is, however, the only one I have.

I have had them all at one point in time.Once I knew about the variation I would buy everyone
I seen at shows or flea markets. The only one I have left is Jacques Laperriere.

Happy to finish the year with an Orr item I have been waiting to add to the collection, a 1966 Oshawa Generals Premium. Hard to believe that it's a highest graded as a PSA 1.5. Also added a junior hockey program featuring Bobby Orr and the Oshawa Generals along with a ticket to one of Orr's final Junior Hockey games. Can't wait to see what the new year brings.

It is interesting that there are four future Boston Bruins in that program. Along with Orr there are Cashman and Beverly with Oshawa and Ace Bailey with Edmonton.

Not a new pick up but I figured some here would like stuff like this. A menu from Bobby Orr's Pizza Parlor. Very few around as they are very thin and tear very easily.

I do have the Cashman that came with the Orr. Would be a cool set to have.

Very cool.
Thanks for sharing.

I was only 7 in 71 so maybe that's why I don't remember there being one here but, I guess I'll have to ask my dad to see if we ever went?

Default Card show finds today

It was a really good day at the show. Some of the “haul” below. While I am not a Leafs fan, I couldn’t pass up the Mahovlich number match (27/99) card. I could make that available for the right trade if anyone is interested.

1970/71 Dad’s Cookies Bob Clarke. Same year as his rookie at a fraction of the price.

Eric,

Nice pickup. The Perreault and Park are also in the set as "alternative" rookie cards to their OPC/Topps.

Thanks.

I'm glad the masses have largely shunned cards that are:
  1. "odd" sizes
  2. only licensed by the Players' Association

It generally makes pickups like these so cheap they can be impulse purchases.
