Default t206 stamps?

There are some t206's on ebay currently which are described as "t206 tobacco card / stamp"

I asked the seller for some back scans so I could see the stamps on the back.

He responded by writing "the reason "stamp" is used is because the t206's were originally called stamps not cards."

I've learned a lot about t206's in the 5 years I've been coming around here, but never heard that.

So I'm checking the validity of his statement. Anyone agree with the seller?

I never heard that either, but maybe it's just you and I

The closest thing I can think of is the Piedmont Art stamps, but those are closer to the T205 style design.

Default This seller never shows back scans

and for quite a while, I would email him every time he listed 10 or 15 cards at a time to ask about the condition of the cards back, asking if by chance, there was a rubber stamp on the back. He would respond every time "NO". I eventually asked if he would consider posting back scans and got the same answer. I now just ignore his auctions.

Yep I have received the same short answer from him before as well. When a handful of his recent listings showed up with the word "stamp" in the title. I thought for sure he actually had some cards with stamps. I asked again and this time received a sentence. Apparently a complete fabrication, but a sentence none the less.

I just responded by saying "oh I didn't know that, have a great day!"

Figured I'd run it by you fine folks on the .000000001% chance there was something regarding t206s that hasn't been discussed here in the last 5 years.

Is it possible the seller is confusing these "stamps" with cards like Churchman's that often had adhesive backs and were meant to go in albums?

I think it's more likely that this seller has been gluing baseball cards to letters and is complaining on the USPS board that his letters are always returned.

I had to read this twice, but it finally gave me a good chuckle... thanks!
