Default T213 type 3 question

I was looking into the 1919 t213 coupon set and a few of the subjects in the set retired by the time this set was produced such as nap lajoie who retired in 1916 but still has a card with the philadelphia athletics. Is it possible that this set was earlier than 1919?

Default T213-3

If you check out Schulte - Binghamton, he played for several teams between 1916 and 1919, but the only year that he played for Binghamton was 1919. I am too lazy to check out a lot of the other players, but the Schulte card seems to date the set at 1919.

Default T213-3

Another anomaly is Myers - New Haven.

There doesn't seem to be a record of Myers playing for New Haven. He isn't listed with them in Baseball Reference.

In 1916, 1917, and 1918 he is not on the roster of the New Haven Murlins.

In 1919 he is not on the roster of the New Haven Weissmen.

And, in 1920 he is not on the roster of the New Haven Indians.

The Type 2 Coupons are full of these kinds of strange happenings, and it looks like Type 3's also have their cards with team designations that are difficult to figure out.

Hal Chase is in T213-3 as a member of the New York Giants, who he only played for in 1919. There are a bunch of retired players in the set who are just identified by name without a team. The makers of the set just took a bunch of images from the 350-460 series of T206 (as the makers of T213-2 had done), and put them on cards with little regard for whether the guy was still playing.

Dubuc is also listed with NY Giants, and he only played there in 1919.

Chief Meyers did play for New Haven in 1919, according to Statscrew.

Sorry guys - I think my brain is fried. When I was doing my searches, I used the caption on the card - Myers - instead of the correct spelling of Meyers.

Sorry about that!
