Dave, comments like that put you into Jay's category and the category everyone seems to hate around here. It seems it is alright to condemn and bash when you feel it and is Ok but condemn when other do such thing. Shame on you.

Lee-
Whats the reason you felt a link needed to be posted? I'm just curious. I do think most everyone knows how to find it...

Just seems kind of a strange request when especially this evening now your starting in on Leon about REA, but at the same time want a favor to a link to yall's board?

I've never had an issue with you...and really dont right now either...Its fine if you want to go after Leon about REA, Mastro, or Tiddlywinks. But just strange in the middle of that you'd ask for a link to the other board to be posted...

Especially when the two guys there have done what they have done here...and I admit they are both very knowledgeable with cards...but both screwed up here...and I don't see any reason a link to that board should be posted...but thats just my opinion.

David, There are people that actually wish to find an alternative to Net 54 that is what is offered. As to the rest it is a little defense to Jay, but he is a big boy and burns his own bridges.

Leon,

You show that you are the bigger man in this situation, now will anyone go there is another question.

I know that in the case with my direct competition at the last National he hung his banner over my booth. After the show the hall sent me his banners in the mail. Contemplated tossing them in the trash but instead emailed him of the mistake. The next day I get a call from the convention center to arrange pick up. Did I ever get a thank you or email, no. So don't expect one as well.. we will both be better off for it in the future.

Hey Bobby, the first thing I did was commend and thank Leon. i did it because the other do not have the opportunity. When Leon started his own board Elliot posted a link on this site. If it was good enough for Elliot than why not for Leon. By the way 10 people have signed but since it was posted.

If you do check out the site you will find that most of the people there frequent both boards.

Lee,

Nothing against you I am sure you are a great guy from what I have heard and seen on this board. But I do not like the way your brother operates so it is not a place where I would feel comfortable visiting anytime soon. I have gotten a lot of grief for posting here in the past and I would say most came from him. So being in a place where he is in charge does not sound like fun.

I commend you for posting this thread. Scott reciprocated and posted a link to Net 54 on a thread.

Bobby...just because you don't like Jay, don't feel you can't go there a check it out. I think you and i get along good so take my word.

I am a member of Net 54 and the Aimoo site, i enjoy both.

Bobby-
Why do you feel it necessary to slam your competition any chance you get? Most of the time, when you bash Cardpricer.com, it makes you look desperate. No one could have placed a banner 30 feet in the air above your table, except the convention center union workers. I saw many banners at The National that were not hanging over the correct tables. If you think Cardpricer.com was able to call ahead and tell the union guys who handle the obvious random placement of these banners to hang it directly over your 5x7 table, your must be joking.
A small word of advice... It's better to befriend your competition then to talk badly about them. It only makes you look desperate and untrustworthy yourself.

I 'joined' the other forum just now.......unlike this one, you HAVE to 'join' to be even able to view any content. Plus whole visual look to it is kind of difficult. BUT....it is another place to help blow some of the work day....

joining the other board is well worth the 1 minute it takes. I like...love this board...but...I can't take the petty nonsense that routine occurs here. Every now and then I check out the "other" board for some peace and quiet! There is plenty of room in this hobby for both.

Dan,

When the owner directs the union working in person to the exact position he wants the banner to hang it is not coincidence. There was not another banner hanging with in 300 feet. All the other banners where hanging over their own booths and not the competition. It would be the same thing if SGC hung a banner over PSA for example. As far as bashing them show me once that I ever did, you wont be able to because it has not happened. I am glad they are here because it only gives more creditability to what we are doing.

I am glad that the link was posted to the other forum. I think that sometimes this board can be dominated by a few blo-hards, and know-it alls. It will be nice to have another place to discuss vintage cards and aspects of collecting. Sorry, to see that Jay was banned

Realizes that there can be more than 1 site to go for vintage card talk. Collectors will indeed go back and forth between the two sites everyday just like i do.

Its a WIN, WIN situation....

A forum with no advertising? A forum where you can criticize the captains of industry? A forum where you can speak your mind and not fear being reported to the state?

Nah, I'm staying right here in totalitarian Net 54.

A forum where you can talk about dressing your cocks up in cowboy hats, chaps and spurs as they rip each other to shreds and no one -- I mean no one -- will criticize you?

I am certainly far from a computer whiz. Probably much further than you imagine. But even I know that there is no such thing as "going and staying".
You can be in both places at the same time.

If you need instructions on this, ask your kid. Or almost anybody else.

I haven't checked out the site, but is there really a post about dressing up roosters before having them fight? Can you copy and paste it here?

--Chad

Or even better, just copy it onto an e-mail and send it to me so we don't get in a big thing about it here. I want it for more than just gossipy reasons.

Jeff, I sure you could find a way to get criticized. I know we have been on both sides of an arguement, but I would rather have that then someone that always takes one side.

As far as the people making negative comments, just read my first response to Dave. It is so predictable that some will come on and have just negative to say. You complain you don't want the stuff but always find ways to get into the negativity.

Once again it was a nice gesture by Leon and everyone that wants to has a choice. Net 54 is going no where, it is just another avenue.

Lee

Edited for spelling

Lee, I agree that having yes men responding with smiley faces just in a desperate attempt to be loved is enough to turn one's stomach. But as much as I enjoy the contrarian positions taken by some, I also can't help but notice that the same strong moral code that caused the contrarian positions was nowhere to be found when Elkins was talking about torturing animals for his own pleasure. And the silence was due solely to the fact that Elkins was a comrade in arms. Kind of lame, at least in my mind.

It's just to bad that more attempts at cruelty to animals can't have outcomes like this:
