Default Bad pun/dad joke for french speakers

Or just those willing to paste into google translate.

I came up with it this morning, and my wife hadn't had coffee yet and didn't get it. Sad, I pull of a dad joke/pun in a language I don't even speak and it gets no response.

si les acoutrements sont beige clair s'appellent-ils ecrutrements ?

Or in english.

if the acoutrements are light beige are they called ecrutrements?

A thief broke into the Louvre and stole several valuable paintings, but was caught less than a block away after his getaway car ran out of gas. When the police inspector asked him how he could plan such a daring robbery but be foiled by such a simple mistake, he broke down.

"Oh monsieur," he wailed, "I was Baroque. I had no Monet to buy Degas to make ze Van Gogh."
