Paraphrasing Sam Cooke's 1960 song....."Wonderful World"

Don't know much about history,
Don't know much about "crypto-currency",
Don't know much about high finances,
Don't know much about risky chances,
Don't know much about this crazy BB card market,
But, I do know much about BB cards to make it,
Without spending a fortune on Graded,
What a wonderful world it would be,
if this hobby's prices once more were reasonably.

Anyhow those "lyrics" essentially express my feelings regarding the current state of this hobby.
These totally ridiculous prices will eventually ruin this hobby. Seldom does such greed succeed.

Many in this hobby have become more interested in pictures of "Presidents, etc." printed on paper than pictures
of BASEBALL players printed on cardboard........

Well said, Ted.

I like that our hobby is thriving, I don't like that our hobby becomes seemingly treated more and more like a commodities market each passing month. It's quite frankly ridiculous, that you can buy "shares" of a card in my opinion.

Of course it is about money. Money is the alpha and omega of the USA. Always has been, always will be.

No stigma attaches to the love of money in America, and provided it does not exceed the bounds imposed by public order, it is held in honor. The American will describe as noble and estimable ambition that our medieval ancestors would have called base cupidity.--Alexis de Tocqueville

What's the secret of America, Charlie? Money! Everything is money!-- 'Arnold Rothstein' in Gangsters

There's women and money and drugs...and religion if you can work it in. --Sam Kinison.

The best things in life are free
But you can keep them for the birds and bees
Now give me money, (That's what I want)
That's what I want
--The Beatles

Money money money money...
Mark, a yen, a buck or a pound,
That clinking, clanking, clunking sound,
Is all that makes the world go 'round,
It makes the world go 'round!
--Cabaret

Money, money, money
Must be funny
In the rich man's world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the rich man's world
Aha
All the things I could do
If I had a little money
It's a rich man's world
--Abba

I've seen the future and I can't afford it
--ABC

It's all about bucks, kid. The rest is conversation...--Gordon Gekko

They say money can't buy happiness? Look at the fucking smile on my face. Ear to ear, baby.--'Jim Young' in Boiler Room

I'll say congrats once it's a signed bill on the president's desk.

I know I'm not in the majority on this, but "the greatest generation" helped create a strong US after WWII by paying high taxes that invested in American infrastructure, especially Eisenhower's highway system and a standing military.
