Default PSA vs. Beckett ?

Any advice about submitting cut signatures to PSA vs. Beckett? These are pet personal projects, not really for resale.
That being said, I'd be interested in:

- Differences in turn-around-time

- Differences in reputation/accuracy/future value

- Customization options (I have a feeling that Beckett would let me include a title like "NY Highlanders Collection" or something on the label, but I don't see where I'd enter it on the form. I think PSA wouldn't do anything like that)

Thanks!

PSA/DNA has been around a lot longer and have two excellent top authenticators in Bill Corcoran and Kevin Keating.

Of course, Beckett has former PSA/DNA lead authenticator Steve Grad and others so either company is respected.

JSA is also considered reliable as Jimmy Spence Jr. was the first lead authenticator for PSA/DNA before opening his own authentication company 15 or so years ago.

Really just a question of choice. Any of them are competent. My guess is PSA/DNA may take the most time to authenticate due to volume but I certainly do not know that for sure.

IMO PSA has had longest turnaround times and I think they slab less questionable ones than Beckett but also reject certain items like T-206, post stroke Bakers etc even if good. If I submit to anyone I use JSA for reasonable prices and turnaround times. Only negative is they do not slab

Beckett is quicker, cheaper and slabs sturdier. The slabs are clunkier, however.

If it's for the items you've been showing off as of late, you may wish to seriously reconsider spending all that money for authentication, as their costs outweigh actual value of the majority of your items.

If they're not terribly valuable and you're not in a hurry, and you decide to go with PSA there's a guy named Derrick Hohbein who does a group sub every year around January. Last year most items were $11. He's on the PSA boards or I can send you his email. I've been in the last couple years and everything went smoothly.

Depends what you're doing to me. If it's a card, I'd send to PSA because it gets slabbed. If it's not a card, I'd send to the most available authenticator because there's not a lot separating them.

By most available I mean path of least resistance. BGS tends to show up at shows near me more often than PSA, for example.

Thanks!
