LOL, you are far from the only one. I like to talk smack about PSA but am in the current modern group submission with Bobby.

Ha, no. In fact, I paid a premium. If that was a stray hair instead of a mark, it would be a nice 4. Detritus is your friend Bobby. It brushes away.

Default Another theory ……….

…and a nightmare for TPGs and the formal wear industry.

The ends of the “detritus” appear perfectly square. What makes an end square?
A paper cutter.

We rant endlessly on the board about “trimmed” cards, but no one has yet implicated SGC for possibly “trimming” their tuxedos.

Perhaps Willie wanted his tuxedo pant legs shortened a bit.
Don’t send it back.

Save the evidence by all means.

Too late Ethel.......done got mooned. lol......she went back today. I'm OCD big time. I always tell my fellow collectors to save mistake cards because they are worth so much more due to the manufactured error, and here I am not heeding my own advice.

If they are indeed cutting / otherwise altering the black insert, this (could possibly) be due to some of my loud complaining in 2020/21 that the corner cutouts on a lot of SGC inserts had sharp black plastic facing down, toward the edges of the cards. As most cards in SGC slabs (unlike PSA) don't move / rattle much anyway, it seemed like less of an issue - but then in 2022 I did notice newer slabs that seem to have some of those sharp edges blunted by design, and others where it look like someone went behind the mold cutout with a pair of scissors and removed any remaining truly sharp edges. Could this "snip detritus" be some of what sometimes seems to still be falling into slabs before they are sealed?

I give up - really, I've already thought about all of this way too much.

Not sure what is going on with SGC quality control. Recieved my Sanella Ruth with the bottom coming apart like they only pressed close the top half of the slab

The conclusion? We are all just mere steps away from each of us becoming a Mr. Magoo.

Cringing to see the results of my order that is with them currently. I've had at least 3 separate discussions with one of their reps on the QC problems and my expectations going forward.

I'm just floored that conversations are even necessary. They have no customer service line anyway. Everyone knows what a slabbed product should look like. Why is this even an issue? I know...I am just rambling on and talking to myself.

I know of at least one person in customer service that is responsive via email. Right, I'm not sure they are answering the phones. Agree, not sure why it's even an issue. But clearly they are going through orders so fast the appropriate people at that step are just missing quite a lot.

Marker or no marker....it is inexcusable. Even I caught it by simply looking at my scans.

For any still paying attention who might still care - as you know I sent the "Pube Mantle" back in for a re-grade. I'm happy to report that it again got a 5. I have the thumbnail scan, and at this point there would not appear to be any further "hairy" situations. But will let you all know for sure when I get the card back hopefully later this week.

Thanks for playing,

-John

Pity. Would have been a nice relic card to pair with Mantle’s bawdy questionnaire…

Very nice!!! Damn beautiful

Oils well that ends well, is right.

Maybe PSA needs to rework their "gaskets" so their cards arent crooked and swimming in the cases? If they don't have the proper case, they just use what they do have and put it sideways if they have to.

On a side note, SGC sent the card back 1-day Priority Mail Express. I DID NOT get the card back on their scheduled delivery date. SGC is entitled to a refund due to the missed delivery window, but wouldn't that be a hoot if the card was now lost???? Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I'm convinced Priority Express isn't any faster then regular Priority. I had a buyer request it around Christmas to ship a package to them in Minnesota. I think they paid more for the shipping then they paid for the item, and it took 5 days on a 2 day Guarantee.

Granted, there was some bad weather sweeping the country at the time, but I think a regular Priority Box would have got there in the exact same time frame.

I DID get a pretty prompt refund on the shipping, which I then sent back to the customer.

I don't use that service a lot, but when I have it doesn't seem to be much more then a different label on the box.
