I hear some folks don't like to see interesting, obscure stuff, but it's what I collect so get used to it . This is a 5x7 premium I should have in the mail today. I think it's pretty neat. Another board member has one with a blank back but other than that, they are very scarce..

Great pennant, Greg! I'm curious: Is the pennant being help in place soley by the pressure of the glass being pressed to the mat? I have an oversized 1914 Cleveland pennant that I've been hesitant to frame because of questions on the best way to do it. I've always thought that is a double (or triple) mat could be cut to the size of the pennant (only just a tad larger), then the pennant could "sit" within the cutout section and be held in place by the glass. Any suggestions?

Leon awesome premium you have there and Greg that pennant is very cool as well!

Rob here is a Red Sox mini pennant I have and some patches of retired Red Sox #`s. I made the frame`s from wood salvaged from an old window in my house.I was going to put a thin piece of Plexiglass in there for the pennant but it fit so nice I left it alone. the frame hides the nick on the tip of the pennant as well! All I did for the Sox #`s was place them on a piece of felt and sandwich them between the glass in the frame.Hope this helps give you a few ideas for your pennant.Would love to see how yours looks in the frame.Glad I saw this post gave me a chance to shamelessly show off some of my handiwork!

Hi Rob,

I didn't frame the pennant myself, as the fellow I purchased this one from (as well as a very rare one from 1915) had them framed professionally.

As best as I can describe it, these pennants sit within an archival clear sleeve which holds the pennant in place, it cannot move. The matting then surrounds the sleeve.

I framed a 1918 pennant professionally a couple of years ago in which the framer attached the pennant to an archival background with a very fine (invisible) stitch. You can't even see it and it's not supposed to harm the felt. In fact, it probably strengthens it. I'm glad all three are now safe under glass.
All three look great. The framing's not cheap, but at least it's not a slab. I hate the way those thing look around a hundred year old piece of history.
