Default October Autograph Pick Ups

I will start out the month with this great Miller Huggins piece I just picked up, doesn't really fit my collection but was too neat to pass up. Signed stock certificate for 50 shares in the St. Paul baseball team that Huggins invested in from 1925. Signed cleanly on the reverse, sig rates a 9-10/10. Great shape on the certificate overall, and framed well so that the reverse of the stock can be seen through glass.

Wow! What a start to the month! I'm jealous, as I still need a Miller Huggins for my HOF collection.

Default Neil Armstrong walking on the moon

A Chicago Tribune newspaper supplement, the picture itself measures 13x15, from Aug, 1969, picturing Neil Armstrong walking on the moon. This is not the usual NASA picture of Armstrong or the fuzzy picture of him leaving the spacecraft. A signed picture of Armstrong walking on the moon is as rare as an Addie Joss autograph. The fact that it is not personalized also adds to its rarity.

Amazing signatures so far. I love that Armstrong, Richard. Where did you find it?

I bought it from a man who lived in Chicago in 1969 when Armstrong visited Chicago, shortly after his moon landing. His boss was the President of a bank who had some connections and managed to get it signed. The President of the bank also got one signed so there may be one more out there, but I don't believe it has ever been seen.

Why not use your piece to advertise his business?
What a shame to do that to a vintage item.

Richard, is a Honus Wagner sig of early playing days beautiful like this? How tough are they? I have an older day GPC that I would like to upgrade..

I wasn't looking for one of these per se...but with all the Mantle forgeries out there I am a sucker for the Upper Deck items; especially at a reasonable price.

Thanks Mike...it seems like a lot of nice signed cards are coming up for sale. Here at the White Plains show yesterday, I seen a signed Clemente RC someone brought into get authenticated by JSA who got the card signed as a kid. The signature and story behind it were great! I wound up buying a 1954 Bowman Mays with a very early vintage signature. Here's the card...told me Willie signed it for him at the Polo Grounds!

Default Maris signature in KC A's Book

I've been looking for a nice Maris in the KC A's book published when they came to KC in the mid '50's. This I thought was very nice and very reasonably priced.

Default Nice lot of Perfect Game #22

Picked up some great stuff yesterday from the Matt Cain perfect game, got a signed display bat by Matt Cain, signed OMLB baseball with the PG inscription on it from Matt Cain, and a ball signed by Buster Posey. Great stuff and will most likely move the bat, so if you are interested, let me know, otherwise, I will put it in B/S/T.

So stoken, just 2 more for my perfect game collection!

Saw this at a flea market and thought snagged it at a great price. Personalized Astronaut Dave Scott autograph to Ira Milton Jones, who was a wealthy patent attorney in Milaukee who made many donations to the aviation world.ī
