Default Wrapper for a T-205

Posted By: Anonymous

My stepfather gave me my first T-205 when he found it cleaning out his mother's apt. in Florida. The picture above is the wrapper the card was in. Can anyone tell me if these wrappers are rare and if this is really what the T-205's came in. I saw on the T206museum that t-206's came straight out of the box.

Any comments?

the t205s I was lucky enough to open came straight from the box. But that's not to say that a different company didn't wrap them. All the ones I opened were Hassan.

It looks to me as though you have a box wrapper. A Decent number of cigarette boxes at that time period came wrapped in that same cellophane-type rice/wax paper wrapping. However, the one you have pictured looks to me as though it would have been around a Murad, Helmar, Mogul, or Egyptian Dettie cigarette box (all of which were made by S. Anargyros Co.) - but all never contained a T205 card inside. The wrapper is certainly from the correct time period.

Its not a box wrapper. It is way to small to be a box wrapper. The size fits perfectly around the card. Maybe my photo wasn't very good

since t205's didn't come in these wrappers, I assume that someone used the wrapper from a vintage stamp, silk, or some other premium as a safe haven for their t205, which of course are cooler than the non-baseball item that originally came in the wrapper. But if you check the factory info on the card and compare to that on the wrapper, you'll probably find that they don't match...just a guess.
