I was truly looking forward to seeing the end results of the Red Cobb Collection this weekend. I guess i'll stick to pre-season football.

I can think of $347K worth of reasons to be okay with breaking this back run up!

Congrats Jamie…

I guess if he thought that was an issue, there wouldn't be reserves on so many cards. Let them sell as a true auction and you won't get back any cards.

I am not a big fan of reserves, but what do you mean fake bids? Heritage actually releases the reserves before the end of the auction. I prefer that compared to bidding against hidden reserves the whole auction.

The items in Heritage with a reserve state “Reserve” next to what the the reserve actually is and if you bid that amount then you will be the high bidder at that level.

Because the bid was manually adjusted from whatever it was at naturally to whatever the reserve was. There is no underbidder. No cards with reserves received 2 bids.

While hidden reserves are no fun, at least you can have natural bidding and a market price, even if it's a pass.

I can't speak to the T206 cards. T213 cards are not 30,000 and 50,000 cards traditionally. 200,000 for a T214? What is the highest recorded sale for a T214? I would guess like $3800?

Well... Jamie has the right to sell his cards at whatever prices he wants. He obviously used HA setting up future private deals since he already indicated the amount of money he is willing to sell his cards. There are many collectors out there who is willing to pay for insane/irrational prices for something they "got to have them" (e.g. $48k Cobb Carolina Brights bk, $48k Cobb ELPG bk, $60k Cobb blank bk... etc). Instead of waiting for 2 bidders bidding up the price from $10k bid by bid, just let the bidder with deeper pocket to pay for whatever price Jamie feels comfortable with which was the reserve here.

The other thing is who knows Jamie didn't pay $200k for his T214 Victory Cobb since he was the one who was "I got to have it" in the past.

Anyways, Congrats Jamie!

10 Cobbs did not sell because no one hit the reserve. But Jamie knows the business and knows the values of his cards.

Still some amazing prices and still great seeing all those Cobbs and different backs.

Per VCP a t214 Cobb SGC 2s has sold for 20k twice. Both more than 11 years ago.

I agree with the above sentiment. He can ask whatever he wants for his amazing collection.

Saw it. That piece is Fantastic. Did not expect it to go for that much.

But well worth it considering the history/attachment to the T206 card
