Default Show Me Your Favorite 20th Century Bat

Stall & Dean Jim Delahanty Signature Model - possibly the only one known - I've had it a few years and have inquired many times and no one has ever seen another.

Default Show Me Your Favorite 20th Century Bat

It would be hard for me to pick one favorite 20th century bat but these two are at the top.

1) a Hanna Batrite Groh model bottle bat

2) a J.R. Mains Ruth model bat. This company started in the 1890s as Mains and Dolley which made lots of ring bats, was followed by the W.E. Mains Co., and finally was run by his son, J.R. Mains in the 20's.

I've never seen another copy of either of these bats.

John

Love that bat Dan. John I've never seen a Mains Ruth before and that Groh is excellent. One of my favorite bats is this George Stone Spalding. It was given as a trophy for best batting average in a grammar school league.

I'm really glad Leon set up this board as where else would you get to see items like this.
Dan, I've never seen another Delahanty bat either,of any make. Clint, I've seen one or two other Stone Gold Medal bats but never a presentation type (really neat). Mike, yours is the first Piper
bat I've seen in a mushroom style.

A feast for the eyes.

John

My favorite would be a 1917 - 1921 Eddie Collins H&B Decal Bat. 36 inches. Fantastic finish.

Dan- Didn't someone on the old GUF forum have a Stahl & Dean Delahanty signature bat. I vaguely recall that but don't remember who. I think maybe MGHProductions??

That was my bat that I showed over on the GU forum. I think MGH pro has a Ping Bodie and an Eddie Collins Stall & Dean, but he had never seen my Delahanty either.

Someone needs to get the word to those guys over on GU about this forum. There is no way to contact them through GU so if someone knows their email address they should drop them a line about the forum over here.

btw Joe, I love your Collins decal bat.....you didn't happen to pick that up from Corey Leiby did you?

Dan, Joe's right Matt had a Delahanty bat but it was a decal bat. It had the burnt signature in the center instead of the end like yours. The picture is still up on page 5 under pre war bats.

Ahhh yes. I do remember that now. I'm losing my memory in my old age.

I wonder if he'll trade me straight across?
