steve f What a beautiful old city. My son Mike graduated from SCAD last week. Prior to the ceremony, I snapped a few photos in search of Joe's ghost. Suprisingly, no markings are noted on any of these places. Enjoy;
#1. 1909-10, Joe and Katherine's flat on Abercorn St. Unknown which floor or how many apartments existed -guessing four originally, as the two-story structure was raised and a new floor was slid beneath in 1913-15. I took a brief walk-through, but it's being gutted and historically renovated now. I met the new owner, a nice young lady, a developer with great knowledge of historical buildings and knows about Joe living there. I inquired about purchasing a unit, but sadly they'll be rentals only.
#2. 1922-33, Joe returned to Savannah. His new bungalow on E39th. Needing restoration very soon.
#3. 1922-33, Joe's very successful Dry Cleaning Shop on Drayton St was here. Savannians were impeccable dressers. Now a parking lot, and the locals are quite sloppier.
#4. Savannah Civic Ctr. Grad and family, Summa Cum Laude.
