Default Some humorous stuff from a real popular guy-Stengel

From a NY Daily News story today, I thought these were really funny.

Casey Stengel had a million stories and quips and his old players still laugh while retelling some of them. In a mound meeting, he once asked Bob Miller how he felt. “I’m not tired,” Miller had said. “You might not be, but your outfielders are,” Stengel replied.

When a writer asked, “How do you keep your boys on their toes?” Stengel said, “We raise the urinals.”

Another good one from Stengel:
You gotta learn that if you don't get it by midnight, chances are you ain't gonna get it, and if you do, it ain't worth it.

Another Stengel story that I heard years ago was in reference to his first year
with the Mets ( I'm not sure if I got all the details exactly correct ).

Anyhow, Casey Stengel was talking with a few reporters during Spring training
about some of his young ball players. Casey said, " That fellow over there is 19
years old. In 5 years, he's got a great chance to be an All Star. Now, that
fellow over there is also 19 years old. In 5 years, he's got a great chance of
being 24 years old. "
