Default 1927 New York Giants "cards"

Did anyone here win this item on eBay??

http://tinyurl.com/o7fl5dr

The seller didn't know the year of the photo cards, but it looks like the photos were taken in 1927, given the presence of Zack Taylor, who only played for the Giants in 1927.

There were tons of HoFers in the lot, including Hornsby, Bresnahan, T. Jackson, Lindstrom, McGraw Terry, Roush, and Ott. I think the Ott "card" is the most significant since this would pre-date his 1929 Kashin an 1929 Leader Novelty cards by two years.

If anyone on the board won this lot of cards, if you can call them that, and you are okay with breaking up the set, please PM me regarding Ott.

I'm interested what others think of these "cards". Below us an image of Ott and Cummings from the lot:

Yeah, I was watching these too, thought they were cool. I dont consider them cards though, just a great grouping of photos. Loved the early Ott and the overall "completeness".

Very interesting lot, Derek. Never saw it when the listing was active. I'm not sure what to make of them, the seller appears to allude to the backs being blank, did anyone confirm that? They look like they could be period photos from the scans.

Nice pickup. It's great to see Bresnahan and Doyle in there. The price seems about right and they're very cool. They'd make a great display piece. I'd keep them together ...

If they are legitimate, I think the buyer got a very good deal. If not, I guess they would make a nice display piece and chalk it up to "worth taking a chance at that price"........

Buyer got a good deal but I would probably consider them more photos than cards. I saw them when active and decided they weren't cards, imo, so didn't bid. However, if someone thinks they are cards more power to them. I have thought more weird things as cards so who is to say!!!

I don't think someone would identify the players on the front if they were cards. Original photos for sure.
