Default When Buying Always Check Feedback (Nomar5378)

Posted By: T206Collector

As I noted in a previous thread (http://www.network54.com/Forum/message?forumid=153652&messageid=1113077600)

Nomar5378 got many of these cards from me in this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=86840&item=5198971020

As you can see, my auction stated, "This is an off-grade lot with numerous and various condition problems, including, but not limited to, tearing, paper loss, tape, ink stains, creases, etc." and had much closer images of the fronts and images of the backs. Again, these were some of the worst cards in my collection before I upgraded them.

If you look closely you can see that the Cobb looks like it's missing all 4 corners of the card. You'd think one might put an extra scan in of the key card in the lot.

Are they over the top flaming A-holes who go off topic to attack the other guy or do they explain things? Do they personally insult the other party? I stay away from sellers like that.

This guy bought a cobb for me. told me it was for "her" sons birthday and got me to expedite shipping - turned around and resold the cobb the next week w/o disclosing the paper loss on the reverse. a real scum.

a large lot like that without having closeups of at least some of the cards- particularly the Cobb, since that's supposed to be a selling point- is obviously trying to hide something. There are way too many red flags.

"Dear t-206collector,

I just paid through PayPal. #5198971020 Lot of 15 1909 T206. Please leave positive feedback and I will leave you positive feedback the day it arrives. I was wondering if this could be shipped out today or tomorrow by any chance. It's for my son's birthday and I need it to get here ASAP. Will it be sent Priority Mail? I hope I don't seem too pushy I just need it to get to him in time. That's all. Thanks, Irena (nomar5378)"

Then these cards end up in the lot described above. So, I sent Nomar5378 an e-mail, which said (a) if you wanted the cards so fast for one of your misleading auctions, you didn't have to lie to me about the reasons to get them -- I would have shipped them promptly in any event; and (b) I forwarded a copy of the link to Nomar5378's previous thread on the Net54 board, to let him/her know that his untoward business practices were not going unnoticed.

I'm sure none of it has had an impact, but it made me feel better for the effort.

do you have a link Dennis? T206 - that is the exact same email I rec'd. Only I felt particularly compassionate and sent the card priority without charging anything extra.

I believed the buyer to be a bit dishonest in the e-mail, but I rushed it anyway. When I saw my cards in that lot, I got fed up and e-mailed the buyer as set forth above.

bought several items from me over the past few weeks. From what I've seen, she's been a reliable payer. The funny thing is that everytime she has sent payment for an item, she tells me to send the card quickly because "it is her son's birthday". So each time I send a card (and it has been over a two-week period), I tell her to wish her son a Happy Birthday from me! lol!

nomar does pay - I will give her/him that. I think everyone will agree the problem is on the sales end - at least if we ignore the fact that she has had a son born during each week of the year

I have several encounters with this "customer"..each time was another RUSH birthday present and the next day e mailed where is the order? then she asked if we can ship in advance since her money order was sent and she did not realize we take paypal, which is clearly noted on our site..She does pay but is by far the most bold at asking for constant birthday gifts for her kids..nice mom..maybe she can send me a 52 Mantle in a PSA 7 for mine..

Why do you all think Nomar is a woman? Because "Irena" is in her ad and "Irena" signs the emails for "her" son? The contact info contains a telephone number to a guy named Steve. Irena is 73 years old and is probably the guy's grandmother. Total scam.

Everyone knows I am not a card guy, but I have to be amazed that someone will spend $1400 on this lot with that lousy scan.
Geez, if the guy wants to piss away money, send me some dough.
