Ok, leon's post in the other thread inspired me. I think we should dedicate an entire thread to posting a pic or two of some of our favorite cards or newest pickups! I'll start us off.

Here's one of my most recent pickups, bought from occasional board contributer, Bob Craik. I might add that Bob made it a first class deal all the way through, and for that I thank him endlessly!

And here's another recent pickup, one of my favorite players from my favorite set.

OK guys FIRE AWAY!

I think this is a great idea for a thread that would run indefinately. I have a few new acquisitions. Here's one of my most recent. I'll try to have more tomorrow.

I would get this graded except for the tiny tear on the left border.

Brian Hodes now owns the T205 Young but I still love the card.

Great idea for a post! Here is one of my recent pick ups on eBay. A fairly rare card in my opinion, and the condition not too bad. Frank

I acquired my N172 Bid McPhee card literally the day before the Hall of Fame made him a member. Talk about instant investment appreciation!

The picture was over the size limit so I had to resize, making everything blurry. Here's a better scan of the Voskamps.

Glen, I think Jay meant the back directly to the left of the Voskamps (the one in the center left). I could recognize the Voskamps even though it was blurry, but not the elaborate one to the left of it.

BTW, I think we'll need to start another picture thread soon, cause this one is starting to take a while to load.

it's a fancy English card of a generic baseball player batting - beautiful circa 1900 color lithograph. Actually, one of the few cards I regret selling, though they are fairly easy to come by.

Ben, you need to get a broadband connection. Seriously, though, is anybody else having a problem, as it loads very quickly for me.

He got the right one. I have never seen a Voskamps card before, so I had no idea what the back looked like. The Willis I am familiar with.

Do you know how hard it is for a die-hard card collector to choose a favorite one or two cards? Well as you can tell I couldn’t do it. So here are some of my favorite cards and my favorite cards from the T206 set.

Great idea for a post, and with the collections that reside on this forum we should be able to crash the Network 54 server in no time.

Regards,

John

The rare McCardle variation in the T212-2 Obak set (1910) and any of my E94s, I happen to love this pose of Lajoie

..and I can't wait for there to be more--so I have to save it again! Every single card and photo that I don't have, I want. Hey, Ben--thanks for a wonderful idea.

My "McPhee scorecard" is catalogued in the Standard Catalogue, 2004, as "1888 Cincinnati Redstockings pamphlet," though it says "scorecard: on it. It's about 3x6," and is essentially the front cover of a Cin. yearbook, with a scorecard in it. However, only one has been found with the pages behind the cover--a Mallone.

The photo is a Brace print of what is probably a Conlon photo; my guess is 1913.

There's something about the yellow background on the portraits that really appeals to me. Especially the Lajoie & Joss. Always adding more to my small (for now) collection.

I can only come up with three Big Ed's. If anyone can come up with 4 or more of someone else, I'll settle for the Bronze.

That Shaugnessy is the same image used for his t206 card - the "vampire from hell" pose.
