Default baseball etching

can you guys tell me when these etchings in i guess plastic were done. I have a gentleman selling a different one in a shadow box which lights up for a 100.00 dollars. Is it worth it. thanks

I have no idea when they may have been reproduced in plastic, but the one you picture is based on a Harper's woodcut from their August 22, 1885 issue, page 549.

As for whether it is "worth it", that depends on if you are asking about resale value (I would say no), or value as a piece of art on your wall that you will enjoy looking at (you tell us).

i would say as a companion piece to my orig. from harpers which i did not picture.

I know someone who has a different Harper's baseball etching/embossed or whatever in like a plastic-like resin and I've seen it in person. It's different and interesting looking. I'm sure it's more modern, but $100 sounds reasonable if you like it. You don't see many of them around. You would be buying more for the aesthetic value than anything else.
