Ideologues raging about other matters is much less interesting than the state starting to concede that an original tent pole of their appeal to authority narrative is probably untrue and this was indeed what the ‘conspiracy theorists’ thought.

A core functional problem with appeal to authority arguments, besides the logical, is the inability to reasonably shift - it backs one into a corner of whatever the authority said or says without evidentiary support. The major tenets of the orthodox narrative were set in stone before any actual testing of hypotheses, research, investigation, or with supporting facts. This was justified by appeal to institution and to science, as if the proclamations of scientific leaders and the state overcome having to do, you know, actual science. If one acknowledges the authority was wrong on a premise, and the entire argument relies on authority and expertise, such admissions ruins the entire argument overall. If X is true because Y said so and Y must be right, then when Y turns out to be wrong about X.1, the conclusion does not hold. The right does it too, frequently, and it doesn’t work any better for them. Most of the premises, that we were told were true without evidentiary support, have turned out to be false or extremely unlikely. While censorship has decreased a bit, they are still struggling to not have to admit to the numerous fictions and three years later are only gradually soft-pedaling a few steps. A ‘low confidence’ opinion that this probably came from a lab (shockingly, originating in the same place as the lab written about in the academic journals researching how to infect humans with coronaviruses) is about as far as the admissions can ever go. Having to cling to clear falsehoods because it’s the only way to pretend the argument holds loses support among anyone who isn’t heavily invested in it, the middle that has abandoned the paranoid terror and now pays little heed, perhaps some occasional lip service.

its a shame the young voters who have not seen the political cycles actually believe when one side says 'follow the science' that thats really political talk and there can be argument of both sides of 'follow the science' which they realize years later as the cycle repeats... need to do your research ...battle of the experts happens in court and also in politics...one side isnt always right where they need to censor an alternate opinion which sadly is right as well many times but is censored yet we will hear about roberto clemente books being banned but not science opinions that could of enhanced many lives and impacted a far greater amount then a clemente book which the headline even for that was disengenous

They can expire it right now if vote on it....pandemic has been over for awhile...why cant we file a lawsuit if needed on new vaccines? Not sure how arguing 'both sides' is an answer, they can change it now given the huge profits made and limit it from a percent of future profits which will not deter any new pandemic in the future as far as spending money on future drugs.

Its funny that all of sudden when you can sue for being sick you will see changes, it will not be as recommended as before, which I find will strange because like you said its effective and not dangerous...yet will be less recommended..

Oddly the Vaccine doesnt seem effective against the most prevalent strain of Omicron.
