Default Mount Morris Photograph

I was wondering if anybody here picked this photograph up last night on ebay? I'm curious about the location of the team. Thanks.

Gary,
I did not bid on it, but I liked the image. It looked to be earlier than the date on the back, no mask, early belt etc. anyway, hope you find out something, I actually thought you were going to go for it. Let us know.

Bruce- I wanted to make this Mount Morris NY, but couldn't given the lack of a state designation on the handwriting on the reverse and the lack of a photographer's ID. I'm hoping the winning bidder can give me some further information. There are four Mount Morris towns that I know of, NY, PA, MI, Il.
There is/was also a Mount Morris neighborhood in NYC, I believe. Here's the reverse.

Default Mount Morris Photograph

Might be a reference to Mt Morris Park, now known as Marcus Garvey Park, in Manhattan

That's one of the possibilities. I hoping someone will be able to ID a player or players.

While his shirt seems to say "stub" (I am not sure why - any ideas?), I choose to read it as "stud".

"STUB" or "STUD" is virtually the only clue. There appears to be something written on the "box" in the center near the bats, but I can't make it out.

Here's a bit of an enlarged, cleaned up image, if it helps in the hunt...

So messing around with the back, you can see this.

Mount Morris, Michigan, maybe?

Google up historical societies for various Mt Morris towns, then call them or email them a scan of that... One of them may have such a photo, or want the scan, or have a file... and you might learn what Stuh or Stub is...
