What happened to the 1914 CJ Cobb? When I went to check the closing prices,
it had disappeared. Hope Crazy Uncle didn't pull it before auction ended due to some insane bid from a hyped up bidder. Anybody know?

Same with the T204 Ramly WaJo.

ETA: looks like a number of lots aren't listed with sale prices. I have my iPad set to view 100 lots/page and page 1 ends with lot #145.

I'm also still waiting for a correct invoice. The buyer's premium was neither 18% nor 21% (somewhere in the middle) and no shipping charge had been added.

I called (voicemail full) and e-mailed yesterday and no response yet.

Got an email invoice this morning. It was correct and I paid it. done.

I am not sure why the impatience. I guess it's our instant gratification society. And I am not saying communication couldn't be better, it could.

Easier to pile on the negative, than post a positive. I was very happy with the ending price on one of my items

Im with you. AR has been nice enough to answer my messages on here and my invoice was emailed yesterday morning which I paid. First time bidding and won one card which I am excited about...so as long as it gets here (hopefully in a timely fashion) I dont mind them being a few days slow sending out invoices.

PS: Who ever won the Lefty Williams signed check PM me if you plan on reselling it

Pretty sure it was in their Spring auction, so you may get another crack at it. Their small print is similar to Heritage they can bid the item up to a certain point then they hope for one more "real" bid and then the item sells. If they don't get that bid while it may look like it sold, it will be back next auction.

Here it is taken from their rules sections:

3. Minimum Bids and Reserves: The minimum bid is the publicly opening bid. All minimum bids are published in the lot catalogue. The Reserve Price is a minimum bid set by the consignor below which the lot will not be sold. Accordingly, if the Reserve Price is not met at the conclusion of the auction, the lot will not be sold. Reserve bid prices are not publicly available and will not be published, except that within twenty-four hours prior to the auction close, any item with an unmet reserve will be annotated with “Reserve Not Met” in the online bidding. Reserve bids are available to the House and the House may, at its discretion, on behalf of the seller confidentially set an “up to” bid where the next bid in succession would hit the Reserve bid. No reserve bid placed by the House will be executed at a level greater than one bid below the actual reserve.

I would not call it Shilling. I'm just not a fan of hidden reserves.

What's the big secret?

I hope the 'impatience' wasn't directed wholly or partially at me. I posted a strictly factual account of my experience with an AH to a hobby message board.

I received my invoice four days after the end of the auction, and it was incorrect. Voicemail was full and an e-mail yielded no response. I would call that well-deserved concern, not impatience.

Quite honestly, I think this may be even worse than my dealings with Goodwin (by the way, anyone know whatever happened to the Heartland auction? probably room for another thread). Here are my issues:

Per the T&C which they wrote, the invoices would be available the next day. As a result I printed the invoice and mailed a check based on that invoice on their website. This is not me being impatient, this just the way I pay my bills. My invoice has since undergone the following changes: 1) on the website the total amount changed (18% bp to 21%) 2) their address on the invoice has changed from from Varick St to Harrison Ave 3) the emailed invoice has shipping and tax which the website invoice still does not have (I am not in NY so not sure he would need to collect my tax). 4) the emailed invoice has an extra lot listed on it that I don't think I won, but can't check since the emailed invoice doesn't list lot numbers, only a description and the auction had multiples of some cards.

If I owe the extra shipping and tax fine, I'll send a second check, but at this point I'm not even sure what lots I actually won as I have 2 different invoices, or if my previous payment was sent to the right address.

Also what really bothers me is there are 2 threads dealing with issues, and yet Aaron has been on the board multiple times since these started and he has not said a word. This was the same type of response he provided in the past and I figured he had learned after the last auction when he started addressing issues. I guess I was wrong. I also keep coming back to a saying I've become pretty fond of lately; If you say nothing, you are really saying something.

DJ

Not everyone is cut out to run auctions. Even one of the best ever at it (Brent Huigens) got creamed from the mob. I don't know Aaron personally, but it sounds like he needs to get his act together, if he wants to be successful at this.

Partially.
Everyone can express their opinion as long as you have your name next to it. Contrary to what some idiots say, no one, that I am aware of has ever been banned for saying something about an advertiser. There are other reasons to get banned but that is not one. Mainly people get banned when they are total A holes to me, and other members, and have been warned more than once.

Brent Mastro was shunned by the "mob" because he is a common criminal PERIOD

That is not common fact. That is a debatable opinion. The same as some people saying Obama was the worst president of all time.

Sometimes the best move, is not to make a move. Has Aaron addressed Dave and the other members about their issues? Im not 100 percent up to speed on everything, but it seems Aaron has used this net54 board many times for postings.

Aaron has not addressed a single thing !!!!!! I have not heard from him in 6 weeks, he screwed me out of around a million dollars or so. Supposed net auction sales to me are around $250K - $300K and have yet to see a dime of that. Absolutely no communication!!! My unsold items were tossed in front of my home by his people like it was trash with items damaged. Many $100Ks worth of stuff is still missing. Complete lack of class !!!
