Default Pre-War Prints For Sale

This is a paid ad.

Hi All,

Being at home for a few weeks prompted me to kickstart a project originally conceived about ten years ago. Please find it here: Pre-War Prints.

The goal of this effort is to bring beautifully restored, high quality prints of vintage baseball images back to life and onto walls. Our inaugural print is a painstakingly cleaned up composite of the best known examples, and we hope you'll be pleased with the outcome. It's stunning in person, and the price is much more approachable than the original!

To keep it interesting, this, and all subsequent prints, are being sold on a one month timed-release, meaning we'll take orders for 30 days, then print, number and ship the artwork. In this way, the final print run is decided by the community.

I'm announcing the June print a little early on N54 because this place has always been so helpful... and because we're just really excited to get some feedback. If you're interested in purchasing a copy of our 1st print, please PM me before checking out and I'll provide a personal code for free shipping.

There is a group of incredibly talented and knowledgeable folks who have assisted with the project and I'm truly excited to have it see the light of day. I hope that you might be as well.

Thanks for your interest!
Chris

A proof copy of our first print:

Proof samples of the custom COA's arrived today -- thought some folks here would be interested to see them. One will accompany each print and be numbered to match. Was fun to envision a mash up of T206/T205.

Confirming here that all orders of the first print went out on Saturday, 7/11. So hopefully most have arrived or will today.

Costa, unfortunately yours may take a day or two longer to get all the way up there.

These are even nicer than I thought they’d be. Check them out if you haven’t. Great pieces for the modest pricetag.

Hi Chris, I'm really enjoying these prints. I just placed this months order but I do have a request. Can you put more than the one piece of tape on each side of the cardboard protectors? Or maybe tape them down centered inside first. My last order shifted so the corners of the prints were exposed. There was no damage to the prints but the sleeves did get destroyed in one corner. I also added this note to my order. Thanks. Ron

Just wanted to add a helpful tip to anyone looking to protect their prints if they are not being framed. BCW makes a 11x14 top loader and these prints are around 10.5x12.5 so it's the perfect fit.

Here's a link https://www.bcwsupplies.com/11x14-to...LeN-SDH3w.link

Great feedback Ron, thank you. I will certainly take extra precautions going forward. I will also be happy to ship extra sleeves with this month's order to replace the others.

Been a crazy summer with 2020 going on and all so I've been fairly dormant the past few months, but I received the inaugural print a few weeks back and loved it. My only complaint is I missed the Cobb print....

Great stuff, and to those on the fence the product is great!

Super nice surprise in my P.O. Box from Chris at Pre-War Prints. This wasn't necessary but extremely appreciated. There's a Cobb and a Ruth player option with different color variations and extremely low print runs. So I suggest going over to their website http://www.prewarprints.com and checking out the details. These would look great framed, especially if you add a baseball card or two with the Pennants. Perfect for a "man-cave" at a super reasonable price.

Thanks again Chris!!

Thanks Ron! So glad you like the pennant.

Bumping this thread to introduce September's print, "Matty". This might be my favorite so far, but I'm a sucker for T3's. These beautiful images really pop when properly cleaned up.

Archival giclée on 100% cotton Hahnemühle Photo Rag. Hand deckled edge. Hand numbered. Final print run determined by the number of orders placed. Will not be reprinted. Paper size: 10" x 12". Image size: 5.25" x 9". Available for order until 11:59pm EST on September 30, 2020.

In honor of Big Six, the first six N54 members to order using code "BIGSIX" will receive free US shipping. Order here.

Thanks for looking!

Another bump to bring attention to a great cause.

Pre-War Prints is honored to stand alongside more than 80 other baseball artists and creators to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Negro Leagues with a Virtual Art Show and Benefit Sale, Oct. 4-10, 2020.

To celebrate, we've fully restored a 1924 photo by J.E. Miller titled "First Colored World Series". 100% of profits from sales will be donated to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Final print run will be determined by the number of orders placed and it will not be reprinted. 36" x 9" on professional matte photo paper.

Though the event officially runs Oct 4-10, we're getting started early to maximize the potential donation to the NLBM. You can place your pre-order here.

Default "Cap & Buck" is home from the frame shop today!

Loving this! (the graininess is only in my photo, it looks amazingly crisp and clear in-person)

I knew from the get-go I wasn’t going to framing any of these because I’d never be able to choose and I don’t have the wall space for all of them, but I finally picked up a nice portfolio and am really excited about how they look. This album is going to be stunning when it’s full. Great job, Chris!

Any chance any prior prints will be offered again? Would love to get my hands on a Matty and a Cobb but I missed out on both of them.

It's their policy to never reprint or reissue a past print. This is mainly done so it's not a flooded market with prints that can be bought at any time. Because it would then become a product that has no value and likely a company that gets lost in the world of mass production.

Maybe one day there will be such a demand for some of these prints that an even trade for their T206 or N162 counterpart could happen. I might consider letting a Cobb or Anson print go for an original vintage card of theirs.

Conor, thanks so much for posting! They look great in the portfolio. I definitely understand not having enough wall space, and it's great that they'll still see daylight this way.

And Ron, that would be great!! If it happens, I say make those trades!
