Good stuff! I have been outbid twice on single-signed Speaker balls from his playing days. I actually I had a shot at one time...sadly...it wasn't to be.

" What is certain is that Speaker was a breathtaking outfielder, maybe the first such creature in the American League. He played center field the way he lived — aggressively, dangerously, boldly. Speaker would play so absurdly shallow that baseball writers in the day would sometimes call him a fifth infielder. "

From The Athletic's profile on their #18 player of all time, Tris Speaker.

Great thread! My next purchase I am looking to purchase the Speaker T206, CJ, or candy card.

The Speaker autograph was bought during the last recession. The Sporting News supplement reard bought here from a board member.

These are OUTSTANDING!
At some point, I must pull the trigger on a T3. The R312's are some of my favorites, too.

The Gray Eagle...nice choice. People tend to forget how elite a player he was. My modest contribution:

Default Tris Speaker 1934 United Kingdom Card

R&J Hill 1934. I believe this image is from an earlier tour of Japan. The same image appears on a Cuban issue which escapes my memory at this moment. There is something noteworthy about the lines on the field that was pointed out to me years ago. Memory again...I think it had to do with the venue being a soccer field.

It's the same image as the 1915 Susini Cuban issued card....

Jim,
Holy Smokes!!! You just blew my doors off with those pics. Legit nice stuff.
You must collect him quite a bit, no?
Phil

This is a clip from a 1909 Red Sox panoramic I have - I believe this is Speaker at the far left end - does that look right to folks?

Honestly, not really. The eye sockets look close but he looks a bit "saggy & slight"...Speaker was pretty broad, actually...but that doesn't mean it ain't him!...maybe he's slouching? I just wouldn't wager it.

I want to take a picture of the photo over my fireplace and post it. Seems Joe Wood & Tris Speaker did the trick of running while the panoramic was being taken and they appear twice in the line!
I love that! That must be a heck of an '09 pano you got there! Can you share the whole thing, perhaps? Thank you!
Phil
