Favorite to least? Don't go on the grade or value...just on attractiveness..and these were randomly picked...unfortunately not mine

E93 A true beauty!! (see avatar)
T205 One of the great cards in the hobby IMHO
T206 Almost a toss-up with T205
E95 Another nice one!
M116. Never have liked the pastels, but I like the blues.

First the T205 is just a nifty card - I like it the best,
Second the T206 portrait is a gem of a card - next best,

Sorry I don't collect past the best or next best of things I like....thats all I can rate.

I was really going after just posting the portrait shots...but couldn't find a recent enough real scan of a E103 or E107...so the E93 and E95 joined the mix

Dave,

I am not a big fan of most of the cards you posted.

Out of the ones you posted, the e93 is by far my favorite.

Of the attainable variety, my favorite Matty cards

1) E92 (or similar)

2) E93... This one is growing on me and may overtake the e92 pose.

3) E103

4) How about the 1915 Cracker Jack? nice portrait card!

I don't care for M116s in general (pastel, what were they thinking?)
I don't care for the T206 portrait - don't know why, maybe because he's looking too far to his left

T206 portrait for shear beauty is still the champ for me. I used to not love the E93 so much. But after seeing Jim’s I would put it up there as one of the most beautiful cards in our hobby that’s a great card!

As for my fav Matty pose I love this pose of all of Matty’s poses the best, a close second is the M110 Matty pose.

I agree with Paul to a certain extent on one point. I don't normally hate T205s, but I do like the T205 Matty WAY more than any other T205. It has a certain quality that really captures the era and his character that gets me.

I've always liked the E93 & M116 blue background. Heck, hard not to like any Matty card.

of any of his cards. This will save me a bundle of dough over the course of my lifetime!

But I would have to go with the e92 horizontal if I had to pick one.

Leon,
Is that a crease coming from the left side just above his head? Either way, that is a beautiful card!

Yes, it's a light wrinkle that doesn't go into the back of the card. That's why I said that in the wrong hands it would be a 5.5-6.....I bought it several years ago from Scott B......

What really gets me about these cards is how they show completely different personalities:

E93--Aw, Mom, can't we stay out here 'til it gets dark?
E95--Move back from the plate, you *&#$&*).
M116--Yes, Sir, I'll use my railroad fortune to take excellent care of your daughter.
T205--Nobody saw the slippery elm under my brim.
T205--haHA! They'll never find her body!

And by the way, I love the lop-haired pictures. Makes the players look like such kids. The blue Cronin '33 Goudey, the Cliff Bolton '34 Diamond Star, all just great.

Bill

seeing jim show off the e98 matty makes me wish i'd bought the card myself...at least you still have a nice OP Young scott.

re thread: i'm coming around on the e93 matty but i was never really into the matty 1910 cards. my favorite is probably the quirky e98 pose.

Thanks again for the E98 Matty.

Quan,
Thanks for telling me about it and not buying it yourself. It is one of my favorites.
