...but I saved these from some semi-significant events that I attended.

Here are a few more recently acquired tickets...

Hi Guys,
Terrific tickets! Here are my favorites - tickets from the 2004 ALCS Red Sox Yankees. As a Sox fan the tickets represent the end of years of frustration as a long suffering fan as the Sox overcame the 3-0 game deficit to stage the biggest comeback in baseball history against their hated rivals. I know they are not vintage pieces but they will always have a special place in my collection! 😀

I recently found these and I have no idea why I bought them and can't remember doing it but have the ticket/receipt with my name on it.
After looking up the date I found out it was the first MLB game played on "Field Turf" the new and improved Astro Turf.

I won these tickets from coka cola contest and
Thy also sent me four food vouchers for the game . The tickets are from the day of 9/12/01 Yankees vs whitesox The day after 9/11 . Needless today the game was canceled . And I never went to the make up game .

Max Scherzer's no-hitter against the Mets at Citi Field, October 3, 2015.
First, an unsevered page of tickets from the 2015 New York Mets season ticket holders' ticket booklet, including tickets for the Mets games of October 2 and 3 v. Washington.  Next, a box office ticket from the Scherzer no-no.  Finally - a ticket to the October 3 game against the Nationals that was not for the no-hitter.  Here's the deal. The October 2nd game was rained out, and was rescheduled for the next day as a separate admission day-night doubleheader. So the Mets played the Nationals twice on October 3rd, and a ticket was required for each game. The rained out game was Game 79, as shown on the season tickets. The Scherzer no-hitter was Game 80. So collectors of tickets from no-hitters should make sure the 10/3 dated ticket they're being offered is marked Game 80.

Bobo Holloman's last harrah
For those that don't know, St. Louis Browns RHP Bobo Holloman would likely be the poster boy for the most unlikely pitcher to ever hurl a no-hitter.
In 1953 he pitched briefly, mostly in a mop-up relief role for the Brownies. Prior to the 1953 ML season, Holloman injured his arm while pitching in the Puerto Rican league. In Puerto Rico Holloman had pitched very effectively and had been a standout on the Santurce squad. Not wanting to mess up his opportunity to pitch in the majors, Holloman downplayed the extent of his arm injury. Holloman made his ML debut on April 18th, 1953 pitching in relief of starting pitcher Don Larsen, of WS perfect game fame, who also debuted in the same game. Holloman, a flake but always self-assured, continually pleaded with Browns manager Marty Marion for the opportunity to start a game "to show him what he was capable of". On May 6th, 1953 Holloman finally succeeded in his quest. In his first starting assignment in the majors, Bobo Holloman pitched a no-hitter. He became the first and only player since Cincinnati Reds pitcher Bumpus Jones accomplished the same feat in 1892. By July of 1953 Bobo Holloman was traded to Toronto and never played another game in the major leagues. On June 21, 1953 Bobo won his 3rd and final career game against the Boston Red Sox in game 2 of a doubleheader. HOF'er Satchel Paige pitched in relief of Holloman and got his 7th save of the season. I have been looking for this stub for many years.
I acquired it after messaging the same person for over 3 years and always getting a not interested or not right now. He was finally willing to part with it after my persistence. I would email him every 6 months or so to see if he was willing to part. It is a ticket from the 1948 AL Playoff Game Which pitted my Indians vs the Boston Red Sox. This is a very hard ticket to obtain and i have never seen another one but i figured one had to exist...and now i own it. Couldnt be more excited! Andy

No Hitter and Radbourn Ticket
I just got the Jim Wilson No Hitter Stub in the mail Today. Also in Mail was this ticket I had authenticated 1885 Providence Grays Mutual Ticket. My understanding was that a mutual member was a part owner / season Ticket holder. Old Hoss Radbourn coming off his 59 win season was part of this team their last year in the National League. My oldest national League Ticket.

Long time reader, first time poster.
This thread is amazing, to say the least! I've been a Mets fan since 1968 and am an active '69 Mets collector. Here are some of my favorite tickets/stubs:  Game 5 stub from the 1969 World Series. I was at this game as a 9 year old Mets fan and even ran the bases after the last out.  Game three of their sweep of the Braves in '69 that took them to the series.   Full ticket and stub from the game where the Mets clinched the pennant in 1969. This was, at one time, the highest attended game in their history so I really don't think there are too many of the full tickets out there. Here are two neat tickets to add to one of my favorite threads:
Circa 1901-1903 NY Giants baseball ticket. Who knows, maybe Matty pitched? He did pitch in game 7 in 1901 and 1903, so there's perhaps a 66% chance that he did.  Scarce September 28, 1944 ticket to Johnny Vander Meer's 2nd and final win in the historic Army Navy World War II Championship played in Hawaii. Behind the dominant pitching of Virgil Trucks and Vander Meer, the Navy squad pounded the Joe D. led Army team 7 games to 2 in this series, which was the brainchild of Admiral Nimitz. Originally slated to be designed to be a 7 game series, it was extended into 9 games due to its popularity with the troops. Approximately 30 ML players competed in the 1944 Army Navy Championship Series. Eight of these players would go on to be elected to the Baseball HOF in Cooperstown: Pee Wee Reese, Joe Gordon, Joe Dimaggio, Bill Dickey, Billy Herman, Red Ruffing, Johnny Mize & Phil Rizzuto The latter ticket is a nice compliment to the ticket from Vandy's Sept. 23rd win and scorebook that I already have in my collection.
