Totally off-point, but when I hear GTA I think of Thanksgiving. One of my fondest Thanksgiving memories involves GTA. One year, at my sister-in-law's big dinner, my nephew and his cousins were playing GTA in the den. My sister-in-law came in and told them to stop because "it's not appropriate right now." something to minimize the chances of theft. You're a part of the problem

TLDR- Theft at shows is a real thing. It's not everyone else's concern, it's
everybody's concern. Wake up!

Take a breath. Yoda is very, very, very obviously making a joke. You don't need to be a Rhodes scholar Hummingbird like Peter and I to realize this.

While it's really, really funny to watch you meltdown when I post against lynch mob murders (literally!) or shooting people for non-violent theft or drawing guns in crowded venues, this is getting a little sad.

Pretend it's not me, pretend somebody else said it. Take a step back, and a deep breath. This is what started your anger:

Take a moment, maybe reflect a little. This is the second time on this forum you have had a public meltdown because I didn't endorse violence. Is this reasonable behavior? Can you understand the difference between person and idea? Can you see how these nasty screeds that are nothing but random insults and batshit crazy statements don't do anything but make you look like an idiot?

Peter and I usually disagree. Does that mean that when Hummingbird 1 posts Hummingbird 2 should immediately attack full throttle and take the most extreme opposite option without any regard for common sense or decency? No. If you look at the idea and what somebody actually says, you will find that you probably agree with them at least some of the time. And if you disagree with them, there's a sane and rational way to do so and make a better argument than you think they made. Which will often upset people too, but that's life. While you might strongly disagree with somebody, that doesn't make them evil.

Even if you have an intense personal hatred for somebody and a burning passion to attack on a message board, there is a better way. I have plenty of unpopular opinions. Wait and attack me when I say something you might be able to argue is factually wrong, or is a bad or harmful opinion I have. You will get plenty of support even with a poor argument, attacking me obviously polls very well here. You are free to go off on me as much as you wish or send hate mail or whatever and maintain this bizarre vendetta as your core purpose. But when you do these things in response to innocuous non-violence, you just sound like a violent lunatic. You don't need to insult and verbally assault people who really have nothing to do with me like Peter, Adam and Yoda just because they didn't support your extremely difficult to defend position. Not everyone who agrees on a common sense thing is connected together or against you. You bring unity to people who disagree by having these extreme over-the-top reactions to nothing.



For the record, since this evidently necessary, my comments about bulges are a joke when I saw a layup for one. My post telling Peter I didn't know what he meant was a lie, part of the joke. I have never brought a hand grenade to a card show.

I haven’t read this whole thread as it’s filled with the usual ten page diatribes, but as a rabid gun guy, you wouldn’t catch me at a show if people were carrying either open or concealed. Too many people aren’t trained properly and people would end up getting shot by accident. Whatever is at risk of being stolen at a show does not merit people walking around with guns. Hire more security but hell no to guns on the premises.

Even if you’re being robbed, it’s illegal to shoot someone in response unless the thief is pointing a gun or other deadly weapon at you. And if for some reason you pull out a gun in anger, there’s a greater chance you’ll end up being shot instead. Even while armed, I’d be way more likely to hand over my wallet then pull out a gun if someone was pointing one at me during a robbery.

Your coverup about making jokes doesn't fly, you are far too nasty and

1) The increase in higher dollar thefts at shows is real, and board members
who attend have voiced legitimate concern about lessening them.

2) There are many ways to help deter theft at shows, and some posters
have attempted discussion about them. As usual, these discussions have
been derailed. When we are able to stay on point, it's clear there is
some disagreement about these ways. The need for some change,
however, is patently obvious. Willful indifference will fail- period.

3) You can lose the crap about my advocating violence, it's pure nonsense
that even you know is nonsense. Remarkable that you can attempt to
admonish me for missing a joke, but that you are blind to your own
faults. I don't advocate violence, I don't think people need to bring
bazookas/grenades/bandoliers full of ammunition to shows. It's tired
and, worse, wrong for you to keep pushing this agenda.

4) I hope the on-point observations cause promoters/sellers/attendees
to up their game when it comes to vigilance at shows. It helps everyone,
thus it's logical to expect all parts of the process to participate.

Is this guy on the spectrum? I've never encountered somebody who truly cannot comprehend the idea of what a joke is. I'm a prick but it's starting to feel like picking on a special ed kid.

You have had multiple meltdowns over non-violence, including throwing a tantrum last time because I wrote against lynch mob murdering people one disagrees with. It was pretty funny. Good luck showing off your piece at card shows to intimidate potential thieves, as you have repeatedly advocated. I pray for the safety of those around you, and for the arresting officers. When I am speaking about another male to Peter, why would I not use "he/his"? I hope somebody can find a good reason to stir the pot over something actually debatable soon. Complaining about using the correct words, being against drawing and showing off guns in crowded public areas to show off ones toughness, correctly identifying blatantly obvious reprints numerous other posters also recognized and recognizing really obvious anti-semitism are pretty far out there reasons to whine.

Keep digging, you will find plenty in my post history a reasonable person could actually object too, if you think this is a good use of your time.
