It's interesting to go back in time, in this thread, and see cards that have shuffled between board members.

a scarce card, if not rare..

1888 N338-1 SF Hess California League.

Very few exist, probably 20 +/-, Burdick donated 11 from his private collection to the Metropolitan Museum of Art so there's 9 or 10 out in the wild.

It's just a notation about the former owner. Rick Kendall for many years was atop the Master Mays set leaderboard (until he sold off his collection in 2018 or 2019). He got PSA to note that these pieces were from his collection, which he dubbed the "Mays Fan Club Collection".

Turns out that I have basically the same card with the same ownership provenance on the label, just without the 7-Up notation.

Awesome. The 7-Up version is definitely not easy to find, in my experience.

Default Rare Card

I think this is pretty rare. Haven't seen too many of them let alone the full deck (minus the Jokers), and this one is from the company that made the ruth monument statue for the park.

Hi Ken, hope all is going well for you. What can I trade you for your 1-of-1 Leader Theatre card of Peck, which would make a nice companion card for my similar Leader Theatre of Sam Rice?

A little "curve ball" here.
This is the only, American Beauty back of Leever's T205; that I could find, that is known; using PSA and SGC POP reports' images; excluding Set Registries of course.
There may be some Raw ones out there but I don't know about them, lol.

David--As contemporary players would remark, your cards are sick! I've never seen a Moonlight Graham Rose PC. Thank you for sharing some spectacular eye candy with us.

Cheers,
Mike

Default Estalella

Al, what a beautiful Dihigo rookie. Here is one of my pop 1 cards. It is a 1928 Agulitas Roberto Estalella from the Cuba Deportiva set. Bobby Estalella, as he was known in the States, was only 17 when this card was made. Estalella, or Tarzan as he was known in Cuba, was a very popular player in the 30s and 40s.

Hadn't seen this thread before so I spent the last twenty minutes twirling through all 500+ posts. What a cavalcade of terrific eye candy! Here's a few of my cards that I would deem rare not due to a pop report number but simply because they rarely if ever show up for sale.

1890s John McGraw cabinet. Can't be too many of these.

1908 Rose pc Moonlight Graham. I've read there's only four known.

1911 JKA Matty. Never see these at auction.

1911 T4 Buck Weaver. Only know of one other.

Default Think that this is still a 1/1

For an important HOFer... it is now in a PSA holder though, so the combined pop would show 2, but it is actually 1

But it does not have a stamped back so that is more of a proof than a finished card...

Wow, never heard the Pinkertons referred to as W530s before. You learn something new every day.

I was always a fan of T-5 's and The Collins T-5; variant That Leon posted I owned for over 40 years. But I never understood the half a scorecard backs of these W530's . Basicly useless keeping score of one team during a game. I still remember the first time I saw one at a show ( mid 1970's) I was excited until I turned it over.. thought about it and put it down. It just struck me as "off". I thought that one day I would find a complete one with both sides of the scorecard. Must have been issued by someone who didn't understand the game.
Now 50 plus years later I appreciate them for what they are. Thanks for sharing.
