Post this in the July thread before I realized there was an August one:
I have no idea what the date of issue for this is but I absolutely could not pass up this Harry Coveleskie card when I saw it pop up on eBay. Such a cool piece for the "Giant Killer" and signed on the back too: ![]() ![]() |

Obviously it has it's issues, but still thrilled to pick up this iconic card within my budget.

Pretty appropriate 1887th post. Added this to my Nash run at the NSCC. Thank you Glenn. Turns out I need the other pose if still available!

I remember back in 1991 we were talking Old Baseball Cards on the Prodigy bulletin boards. Someone posted looking for cards of a relative who played baseball in the late 1800s, Doc Bushong. I don't know why I remembered this, but I can still picture that Scrapps tobacco card someone posted about.
Thursday at the National, I visited Net54 member Taxmechanicks' (Glenn) table, and picked up an 1887 Buchner Gold Coin card of Doc Bushong. Leaving behind that Scrapps tobacco card of Bushong that I still remembered. I think my reason for choosing the Buchner Gold Coin card was #1 it was older #2 I liked his picture in the catchers gear. Back at the hotel Thursday night, I regretted not purchasing the Scrapps tobacco card, and planned on hitting up Glenns table first thing Friday to purchase the Bushong card I left behind. Thankfully it was still available. So now I collect Doc Bushong! Doc Bushong wantlist 1887 Lone Jack N370 1887 Old Judge Cabinet N173 1887 Old Judge N172 (Brooklyn) 1887 Old Judge N172 (Browns Champ) 1888 Sporting Times M117

Congrats Scott! And that Crawford CJ is unreal!
Had some fun opening up my PSA submission this morning. Most of these are recent pickups. The Carey is a card I've wanted for a long time and actually got it from a BST want to buy post. Thanks again to the board member who sold it to me!

Started this month with the '33G Ruth, and then pile this one into the mix. If this month continues at this pace, the September pickup thread will include a new apartment for when my wife kicks me out!

![]() scanner is set on "color photo" and picks up odd stray invisible ghost 'shades' on any black and white subjects......the seller's E-Bay listing title started out " Estate Envelope Premium 1934" and eventually got around to mentioning that there were two mint cards inside the envelope .... I broke a fingernail hitting the $49.00 BIN......the Gold Medal Daffy Dean itself is difficult , and then inside of a difficult set ; everybody wanted Ole Diz....I doubt if I'll have a better purchase the rest of the year... ... |
