Hello. I found a T206 collection in my basement and came here to share them with you. I have no idea how much they are worth or what I am going to do with them. Just looking for some information. I will take photos of the backs tomorrow. Thanks!
Link to photos Edit: As you can see there are 10 pics of the front and 11 pics of the back. When I took the photos of the fronts I guess I missed one of the pages (the one with Doyle). I was able to get a pic of the back (pic #11) but at the time I took the pics of the backs I didnt know I had missed a pic of the front. I dont have the cards with me so I wont be able to get a pic of the front tonght. Sorry! You've got a few thousand dollars worth of cards there, assuming that the backs are not totally destroyed. The green Cobb is the most valuable, followed by the Young and the Mathewsons.
Any idea who collected these? Were they in the plastic pages when you found them, or did you put them there? |

Will take photos of the backs tomorrow. Just curious, why?

Certain backs can increase the value of a card significantly. Conversely, major back damage makes a card less valuable.

Great find in your basement! I would sell individually on EBay or consign them to an EBay dealer like PWCC (member of this board). If you sell as a group you will get wholesale pricing most likely as that person would break it up. The only thing I would find in my basement is unopened wax from the 80s and a bunch of auction catalogs!

A rare back will greatly increase the value of the card.
By the way, I didn't see a scan of the Doyle. Is there one and I missed it? |

That would be crazy! Too crazy, if it was that Doyle, N.Y. Natl.

Very interesting. Congrats. Would love to hear more about this find. How were they stored? How long do you think they were there? How is it they went unfound for so long? Who do you think they belonged to?
Do you have any experience with card collecting or this set? You seem to have some experience given the way you listed the cards, knew to scan the backs and fronts, and knew to highlight the green Cobb (in front of a T222 Fatima – is that a reprint or real?) and the Young. Best of Luck! Very cool find. |

Posters are talking like pics were posted, but I don't see any. Am I missing something?

Certainly a nice little find but nothing earth-shattering. No rarities or pristine HOFers. I don't know why everybody was so skeptical.

Updated gallery with backs
Also updated the link on the first page. As you can see there are 10 pics of the front and 11 pics of the back. Sorry! I found these cards in my basement. They were collected by my Grandfather and passed down to my father where they were forgotten for a long time (until I found them). I didnt know they existed until I found them. My father said that my Grandfather did have the Wagner card a loooong time ago however he gave it away to a friend ![]() The cards were packaged like this when I found them. I have not modified them in any way. I am not sure what I am going to do with them. I did collect cards when I was younger. I have a big box full of baseball, football, and basketball cards from the 70s, 80s, 90s but I havent bothered with them for years. Last edited by emd023; 09-15-2016 at 08:34 PM. |
