Default Holsum

I have been looking for this variety of Holsum Bread. This seller had several of these on eBay that are mislabeled by BVG.

Thanks Abe, I'm pretty happy to get it. The image on this supplement goes nicely with a 1910 Coca-Cola ad I picked up earlier this year (from a board member) that features Gibson with this same image. This same scene (with Bugs Raymond removed) can be found on a notebook cover that I'd love to pick up sometime.

Regards,

Richard.

Default D350-2 Standard Biscuit Company Chief Meyers

Picked up this Standard Biscuit Company card of Chief Meyers to add to my Chief Meyers collection. I believe the ACC designation should be D350-2 on this one. Compliments of Champs and Bums recent auction.

Nice team change card of Brooklyn outdoor shot and Des Moines card to boot. Glad you are still growing the collection (noticed you selling a few).

Nice month for me so far. I added 11 m114s to my collection, putting me at 847 m113s and m114s, but my favorite new item is this $10 ebay purchase, an April 1912 Police Gazette centerfold of a play at the plate (23 X 16) :

I actually have some dupes I bought at times when I thought they were cheap... But now I think certain OJs go cheap because everyone already has them!

I liked Collins and George. But I found sliding poses and don't need double players... I also have an extra Fred Mann not listed... Most of my doubles are common; and I've been 'low key' trying to get rid of then for a while now. I'm beginning to think they'll be loitering in my binder for quite some time.

I can't quit I'm compleatly psychology addicted, and I don't plan on seeking help.

Default I can call you Betty, and Betty when you call me, you can call me Al

Just received this in the mail yesterday.

I'd mentioned on the 2014 collecting goals topic that this Al Simmons card was one of the ones I'd hoped to acquire. Well, I just received this in the mail yesterday afternoon because of the kindness of one of our forum members. Thank you, Kenny, for your incredible generosity.

I won't be buying anything more until the end of January, but I got the last card I purchased in the mail today. It's not a prewar card, but it's part of the Roberto Clemente master set I'm working on. It's a real beauty! I'll be posting it on the post war pickup thread.

Very cool one-off cabinet for Boston Beaneater catcher Tom Gunning, probably 1884-1886.

Great cards and happy holidays to all.

I still love looking at that e102 Cobb!!!

Heres mine, no idea why it graded this way, crease free with a clean back...poorly cut caster though.

Nice Kashin Steve! I similarly recently got one in 3.5 and like you have NO idea why it graded that. Aside from a couple light corner dings (EX worthy), there are no wrinkles, stains, markings, etc. I'm not sweating it, the card looks great and the number probably got me a better deal.

On those Kashins--I got a "3" for Gehrig this year that I was sure was a 4 or 5--sent it to SGC and they pointed to a VERY light crease--on the back! Still seemed worthy of a 4. So maybe you need to get out those microscopes...

I just got a sub back from SGC, and while I have had a few of these cards for many years, I still count them as new since they are all dressed up in black
