I guess the same people who hold onto complimentary items from the Giants' next hotel and Spring Training site (1960s). The white "rain bonnet" is my latest pickup. I also have all kinds of paper ephemera from this place.

Bf3
Just picked up a type 8 bf3 of Monty Stratton. Never seen before or even knew that it existed. For me it was a great find. These are so rare, they are not even listed in the Standard Catalog.

Was able to acquire these two scarce pins recently. The Yankees Old Times Day was obtained from a Board Member who was nice enough to offer it to me for a reasonable price. The Cubs I got from Hake's Auction and had been in the Muchinsky Collection. It had come up on eBay several years ago and Paul outbid me. I was able to buy it and eight other Cub pins from the auction for less than Paul gave for this pin alone. I was surprised and happy!

Happy to add this type 1 of Ruth from his 1923 season with President Harding.
Back caption says "President sees Babe Ruth hit homer and Yankees defeat of Washington" Congratulating him after homerun between innings From the year of Ruth's highest batting average, OBP, Walks and MVP award. Plus, the Yankees first year in the stadium and first championship! Great piece for a Yankee and Ruth fan!

Warren Harding died August 2, 1923.................wonder what is date of photo?
I checked the 1923 Yankee box scores. Ruth didn't hit a HR on the road against Washington. He did hit 3 HR's at Yankee Stadium vs. Washington. He hit HR #2 on 4-24-23; HR #15 on 7-2-23; HR #16 on 7-3-23. With the bunting shown in the photo I would assume the photo was taken on July 2nd or July 3rd (Independence Day Yankee homestand). If so, it was one month before Harding's death. I did some more research. President Harding attended the Senators game on 4-24-1923 for the inaugural season at Yankee Stadium. The date of the photo is certainly April 24, 1923.....3 1/2 months before Harding's death.
