Well I'd love to get at least one of the 3 Diaz Cigarettes I need but that's always kind of a long shot.
I'd say finally dip my toes into getting an OJ at long last Maybe one more T207 Napoleon |

Wow
I am amazed at the focus and the diversity of the goals. Love the specifics and many are chasing some tough to find Commons and HOFer's. Will be interesting to see mid year or during the year how many of stayed focused to these goals(many of us including myself often stray for other interesting cards)

Focus? What's that??? My wife calls my collection "The Festival of Bric-A-Brac" and she isn't off by all that much.

Upgrade my T206 set to include at least 2 top 15 HOFers (Matty white cap, Lajoie portrait, Brown Cubs shirt) from PSA 4 to PSA 5, by upgrading my common 4's to 5's & selling off the 4's to raise the funds.

My biggest goal for 2023 is to stay focused on my reduced collection. Over the last couple of years, my collection has been all over the place. I've spent the last few days narrowing down what I currently have to what I want to keep, staying within type cards from the 19th Century through the 1950s.
The only card I'm truly looking for in 2023 is a very low grade Harrison Studios single player postcard of anyone not named Gibson. Last edited by Jason Carota; 01-01-2023 at 06:58 PM. |

My 2023 hobby goals are:
1) Find a 1921 E121 Babe Ruth pitching pose 2) Add the 149 & 144 Goudey Ruths to complete the quartet 3) Finish upgrading my 1954 Topps set 4) Finish upgrading my 1961 Fleer basketball set 5) Build a 1941 Play Ball set 6) Find a nice 1949 Bowman Satchel Paige 7) Find a nice 1948 Sport Thrills Jackie Robinson 8) Add at least 50 more cards to my 1952 Topps set

Enjoy our hobby, less fighting, arguing
Unfortunately, that is a goal a lot of us seem to have trouble with.
There are an awful lot of posts on this site that are filled with anger and fighting about various things This is our hobby, we do it for fun, because we like/love it. It looks like a good new year's resolution ? I will probably get attacked for this. |

You won't get attacked by me, since having fun and feeling accomplished as your PC grows are, to me, the anchor points of the hobby. I think the large price increase in vintage card values is the main culprit for the anger and frustration many of us feel as our collecting goals become more difficult or impossible to achieve.

I can safely say, if I didn't love collecting or the hobby, I wouldn't be running this forum. It's always been about having fun, first.

Goals for 2023:
Continue to finish several sets i have been closing in on, including: C55 hockey (need one card) C56 hockey (need 12 cards) C57 hockey (need 10 cards) T3 need ONE card (in the right condition to fit my set) 41 Playball (need 10 cards) Diamond Star (need 10 cards) Add to my nascent Sweet Caporal postcard hockey collection Buy a T200 premium Maybe work on my E90-1 set…means buying a Jackson and the Wagners and Youngs….we’ll see Add a Ruth card from the 1920’s i passed on too many times and now never see…..to complete a set. Add some 50’s and 60’s cards in nicer grades that might have calmed down lately. Sell off any peripheral cards that aren’t as meaningful to my collection given the runup in the values. FOCUS…. A lot of us feel the same way. I am priced out too. I have just fallen back on my passion of type cards. They don't need to be a Ruth, Cobby etc.. to make me happy.
