While the group was named after Dave Clark -- the lead singer was Mike Smith (I'm sure there is a Mike Smith somewhere in baseball) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_S...ave_Clark_Five)

I appreciate you guys playing along with this "name-game" stuff.
One Rock group not represented here in this thread is the "Chicago Transit Authority" (Chicago) because none of its members' names coincide with baseball players names. Nevertheless, Chicago's music style blends Rock with Jazz. And it is my all-time favorite group. I've been to their concerts several times since 1973. OK....why not tell us about your favorite Rock group ? ![]() |

Andy Anderson had a lengthy BB career (1941-1953) as a journeyman Infielder in the Minor Leagues. Two of those years (1948 and 1949) he played for the St. Louis Browns.
And..... Andy Anderson was the guitar man for the group Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. In 1964, this group became famous with their song "Wooly Bully". It was quite popular. Every time I hear this song on our local classic Oldies Rock Station, it reminds me of that day in September 1964 when my 4-year Air Force career ended, and I was driving to home from Champaign-Urbana (Illinois) to Hillside (NJ). Every radio station on that 800-mile trip was playing Wooly Bully at regular intervals.....it was really surreal. ![]() TED Z T206 Reference . Last edited by tedzan; 07-14-2022 at 07:20 AM.
