Wow, that's an old scan. Yeah, I did. I once had all of the ballplayers from the set (there' a Speaker and a Bob Meusel too).

Fascinating thread. That 1960 logo variation is an eye opener. Learn something everyday, or at least try to! I would imagine those Korean cards haunt many the player collector.
My rarest card (thanks to Joe T, who hunted this one down for me) is a signed 1952 Bowman Mantle. There are only 19 signed, as compared to 3400 graded unsigned in the PSA pop report. It is the second rarest of all signed basic issue Topps/Bowman Mantle cards, behind the 1952 Topps, of which there are 14 examples in the pop data.

Not sure if this qualifies but they were produced and given out to dedicate the opening game in KC in 1886.

...I'm glad to be following Mr. Adam Of Burbank with this new arrival for my Mule Haas Athletics Playing Days Master Set ......he might know if this postcard-back is somewhat "rare"...... the other three guys on here abandoned Mr. Mack for greener but 'way colder pastures... .. |

Can you post the back?
I wouldn't say they abandoned Mack: no free agency. Mack Daddy sold Foxx and Grove to Boston and traded Cochrane to Detroit.

Todeen,
What is the Underwood trademark for? I think they were photographers for some different card issues so could this Groh photo be one used for an actual card? David |

This may be the rarest card I own - although I consider it more a photo - Frank Selee HOF manager. His single image is not on any card other than the rare Allegheny Card Co. set - so I am very happy to have this for my HOF collection. And FYI it's a Horner photo taken when the Cubs came to Boston in May of 1902. Great thread!

Here is the Matthewson bottle from the 6 bottle set, which i purchased in the Halper Sothebys auction. I have not seen any other examples of these. Thought they were really interesting, cool and unique and would display great. My wife had other ideas! Enjoy them nonetheless.

How rare. Don't know for sure, but I think it's a Koester Bread D383 hand cut from a promotional poster due to the thickness of the card stock. Needless to say, I think it will remain in the family.
